Damn...I am a slacker

Man have I been a slacker or what? It's been since Dec 21 since my last blog post..Why? I have no idea. I mean it's not like I have a real job to keep me from posting, or like I am swamped on a Saturday morning at 6am in the KDKB studio. The only reason..I don't know. But no more.

So is it to late for me to say Happy New Year and all that sh*t? Well there I said it.

I can't believe it's already mid-January, and here we go to begin the KDKB 40th anniversary. 40 years is impressive for a radio station, especially one with the heritage that KDKB has...This station has never even flipped formats which is hard to believe. It's always been a rocker. You got to love that.

Of course this is my second time around here at KDKB and I am glad they let me come back. It's been a lot of fun in the few months I've been back. I'm ready for the concerts and such that are lined up. This weekend I will be hitting Styx at Wild Horse Pass. I am trying to think if I have ever seen Styx.. I don't think I have. I think I've only seen Damn Yankees perform Styx classics. It doesn't matter. It will be a good show.

Then of course on Wednesday it's Ozzy & Slash. I am excited to see Slash with Myles Kennedy. I've seen him with the Snakepit band, but the singers never had the pipes Myles has. I will see you at the show. Since I'm always talking about it on the air..Here is the video featuring Fergie...and Damn to trade places with Slash for the video shoot..

The Dew Never Lets Me Down

Ah yes..Is it really believable that I am getting into the swing of things of this early sh*t? Waking up at 430 is a world I am not used to in anyway. The good thing is I am home by 11 or 11:30 am and I have the rest of the day to get stuff done - Translation - try not to fall asleep. Today I was impressed that I didn't even get my morning Mountain Dew until 8. I am pretty sure "The Dew" is way better than this energy drink we have floating around the station. I drank one of these so called energy drinks yesterday at about 830am and I was sound asleep by 11am. No Mountain Dew has ever done that to me.

I was talking to a former co-worker from Raleigh, Bob the Blade, this morning and he was talking about how his show had just put out their top ten greatest guitar intros in rock. He challenged me to come up with mine. I will be honest his is pretty damn good. You can see his here:

There are only a few I disagree with, but I am pretty sure mine will be completely different. I would never include Rush as well I hate those damn Canadians. I respect them and their work I am just not a fan. They do seem like some cool cats though. I will be posting mine in the next couple days. I need to sit down and think about this one.

Remember if you are looking for some good holiday gifts..It has to be concert tickets. Shopping at home online without ever having to leave the house and dealing with crowds and road rage...It's a beautiful thing. Trust me..Plus your loved ones will thank you for getting them out of the house.

Good God It's F'ing Early

I don't know how morning shows do it. I just don't know how people get up earlier than the ass crack of dawn to do a radio show. Today I had the Roadie breakfast of champions - a Mountain Dew & Brown Sugar Pop Tarts, and then I even added a freaking Orange Fuel energy drink and I was still dragging ass. I mean damn. That was a sugar rush just waiting to kick in, but not today.

I guess this is why I have never had and probably never will have a morning show. 430am is just to damn early to get out of bed..EVER.

This is way off topic but I had to throw this out there..I'm a big muppets fan and I posted this on MFNRocks.com. Dave Grohl is possibly going to make a cameo appearance in a new Muppets movie. I have to say that is pretty bad ass. Read it here.

Speaking of movies has anyone checked out "Tron"? I have heard it's really good. I just can't bring myself to go to the movies anymore. I can believe its got to be good with all the movie technology that can be done in comparison to when the original was released. If someone checks it out feel free to let me know how it is. Oh Yea Something New..

I guess I should update this more than when I am just on the air, I mean it's not like I have anything else to do right? Right.

So last night I hit up Alice Cooper's Christmas pudding, and I have to say it was pretty cool. That was my first time checking it out. It's kind of weird walking around and seeing Alice with his kids and such. Crazy. Alice is still one of the coolest guys though. A lot of people really should take note from him. By that I mean just being cool with fans and he is just that..Takes pics, signs autographs, and never once seems to be dis-interested.

Cheech Marin another cool cat, and funny as hell still. Brad Gillis of Night Ranger was a good dude, but I am pretty sure he was just happy anyone knew who he was.

Rob Zombie...eh..decent dude..Always puts on a kick ass live show though. I've seen him numerous times and never been let down even with the short set last night at Christmas Pudding. The band performed in Santa Claus outfits and that was pretty bad ass.

Also just a reminder I will be filling in for the Sludge Nation all this week as they are taking a vacation for the holidays..

More Randomness...and Some Hotties

Another Saturday shift down. Let me tell you what..Getting up at 5am sucks, but getting up at 5am on a Saturday is even worse. Sundays too. The only good thing about getting up that early is that I get to roll into a pretty kick ass job. Remember I don't think I have ever had a real job and I am trying to keep it that way. I like to think I am doing a fine job of maintaining that record.

Tonight is Brian Regan at the Comerica Theater. This guy is hilarious. For a guy who doesn't use any foul language in his show he is one of the funniest guys out there.

I have never been much of a Jennifer Love Hewitt fan, but I can't pass up showing you this pic..Damn she looks good.

I have also decided I might have to start watching the Real Housewives of Orange County...Even though this chick isn't married..who really gives a shit? Not me. Lets just take a moment and admire her bisexual beauty. Yep Bisexual.

Four Shifts Down

Well what a weekend it was..Four shifts down at KDKB once again. I am flattered that you guys like me enough to have me on the air 4 times in one weekend...What is the world coming to?

Saturday night was definitely interesting as I am pretty sure everyone who called in was hammered. I love listeners here as you are just brutally honest. It goes something like this:

Me: KDKB whats happening?
Listener: Can you play me (insert your song)
Me: Sure...Where you calling from...

Listener: (Insert your location)
Me: Are you drunk?
Listener: YES!
ME: Awesome have a great night.

This was the typical call coming in. Always makes for a fun evening.

The other thing about the 4 shifts in a weekend is finding out how much sleep I don't need. I think I slept about 5 hours this entire weekend. It really is all about MY breakfast of champions. Brown sugar Pop Tarts and a Mountain Dew..That will kick in your sugar rush for the day.

On a side note...Do not miss the Ozzy / Slash show on January 26th at the Comerica Theater. With that being said..You have to see Fergie in all her hotness in the video for Beautiful Dangerous. DAMN!

Oh Yea a Little Four Play

I got some four play this weekend..How's that for personal? TMI? Ah you sick bastards I was talking about the four play weekend on KDKB. It's always good when we change things up and we didn't just bust out the four songs you would expect, which was definitely a nice change. Predictable radio is boring. I am thinking one of my favorite four plays this weekend was from the Cult.

The Cult is one of those bands that at first I only liked certain songs and then over the years you come to realize is such a kick ass band. I believe a couple of their CD's will continue to be played for many years. "Sonic Temple" being one of those.

This weekend was also interesting as I had a few more of you listeners call me up and welcome me back to the station. When that happens you really find out who the die hards are. I have been gone for roughly three years and I obviously made a connection with a few people. Thanks. Or at least I like to think I did. Yea..Lets leave it at that.. I am going to say.. I made an impression on you three years ago and you still love me...Maybe that is raise material? I doubt it. The better question is probably Raise? What's that?

Holy Sh*t It's Been a While

Man I am a slacker these days. I haven't updated this page in a long ass time. There is a good reason...Well actually a few good reasons. I won't go into them all, but one big reason was that I was off the air for a long ass time. Now I am back on the mighty 93.3 KDKB. I am just pulling weekends and misc fill-ins for everyone and I can't complain.

I just got back here to the Phoenix area at the end of October and I am glad to be back. It's just downright awesome here. By far some of the best weather and how can I forget some damn good looking women.

I love Phoenix.

Magic / Lakers / Suns and Randomness

First things first...It was a pretty good weekend got to have some cold ones with friends and watch some sports. I don't know what the hell the Orlando Magic are doing, but I am pretty sure my old high school team could have out played them on Saturday night. They are about to get swept right out of the playoffs. At this point I just want the Lakers to lose. I hate that team.

The only time I liked the Lakers was when Dennis Rodman was on the team. I would love to see the Phoenix Suns beat the Lakers, but I am just not seeing that right now even though I am very happy they won on Sunday night. There is something about Kobe Bryant that just pisses me off. I think if the Celtics keep playing like they are they will beat the Lakers. It will be cool to see the old rivalry of the Celtics and Lakers in the World Championship.

It's pretty amazing to me that Mark Cuban was fined 100K for talking about Lebron James in an interview. What a ridiculous rule in the NBA. Is it really necessary for Obama to tell us how great it would be for Lebron to go to the Bulls? I would say know. The sad thing is Obama probably knows more about the Bulls than he does the AZ immigration Law.

It's now hit that time of the year when there are no TV shows to watch anymore. It's great for that to happen so I am not glued to my DVR, but it sucks for those nights when I have nothing to do that there's nothing on. I do have to say I'm glad the TV show Lost is over.

Thanks for reading a bunch of nothing...just for doing so I will reward you with some nice girl in a bikini.

Kendra Wilkinson and Rachel Uchitel

I just don't understand why Hugh Hefner would pay money to have Rachel Uchitel in his magazine without baring it all. We...I mean I only buy Playboy to see whats going on downstairs. (Well I don't buy Playboy it's all on the Internet anyway..)
I mean she will bang married dudes, show some tits and ass in a magazine but still won't show us her vagina? Really? That's just ridiculous. Not only did she get paid from Tiger about 10 million in hush money supposedly, and now she is getting more coin to show her skank ass in Playboy and all she had to do was bang a couple of married dudes. Unreal.

She does have some nice boobs. I will give her that.

Now Kendra Wilkinson has a sex tape. Man what's the deal? Why does everyone have to have a sex tape. I wonder if it's just as lame as the Shauna Sand sex tape. Shauna just f'ing laid there. It really was depressing. Hopefully from the scans it looks like Kendra at least is into it. I will be sure to let you know.

Finally, I missed Bret Michaels on Oprah today..haha.. I was actually kind of curious to see what he had to say. I do find it interesting that there are people who think this is a publicity stunt. Seriously? Why in the hell would anyone make this a publicity stunt? Even if you don't like the guy, it's pretty fucked up that you would think he would fake this shit. I've even read shit like hey can't we trade him for Dio...That is just ridiculous.

Miss Oklahoma Got Screwed

I took a day off yesterday, a well deserved one at that. I sat down on Sunday to watch the Miss USA pageant and I am pretty sure Miss Oklahoma got screwed. She was way hotter than Miss Michigan...Not to mention who cares about Michigan besides Jeff Daniels? Not to Say Oklahoma is a better state, but it is. It's at least warmer there and not close to Canada. Look at Miss Oklahoma:

She is f'ing hot. Miss Michigan is good looking to, but not anywhere near Oklahoma. From the recent pictures though Miss Michigan can certainly pole dance which leads me to believe when her reign is over she may have a new career. Believe me there is nothing wrong with being a stripper. I actually fully support the stripper cause.

My personal feeling she took on the immigration question and nailed it. She did stay PC about it, but still gave a good answer. I am not one to go all political here but this is just ridiculous. A girl gives an honest answer and she is screwed out of being Miss USA. OR maybe they decided to give Miss USA to Michigan since she is an Arab-American and all of the sudden we need to show everyone that we aren't profiling against them?

It really doesn't matter what the issue is Obama and his staff are jsut going to apologize to the world about the U.S. being a fucking ass kicker bad ass nation. I am not going to apologize for us being a bunch of bad ass mofos. It doesn't matter what we do the rest of the world is never going to like us. No one is standing up for us anymore, it just seems we are apologizing everywhere.

Ronnie James Dio / Joan Jett

Let me first start by saying I am pretty bummed by the loss of Ronnie James Dio. I will get back to that in a minute.

The weekend was pretty awesome. I headed down south to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and I have to say she was pretty good. She still looks great. From what I could tell she still has a great ass. The leather pants may have helped that, but either way she looked good. She played everything you would have expected, even though I was surprised that I Love Rock n Roll was not her last song. Songs I didn't know I will be honest I felt bored, but the ones I knew I loved it. She is awesome. One rock chick that has stood the test of time. I will share one of my favorite Joan Jett tunes.

It did suck that the weekend had to end on such a shitty note with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. I was lucky enough to see him a couple times live. One of those as solo DIO and one with Heaven and Hell. I watched this guy put on a great show at the age of 65. Still had great pipes and put on a great show. I never had the privilege of meeting him, but everyone I've known that had said he was one of the nicest guys in the world. Another great thing about Dio was that I got to meet a great friend of mine through his music. I owe it to the song Holy Diver. She heard the song on the radio and sent an e-mail to thank me and we traded a few e-emails and the rest is history. I still dig the tune Holy Diver, but Heaven and Hell was the first time I ever heard Dio so I would like to share that video with you.

Good News

Jenny McCarthy is single again and out kissing some random dudes. I guess it's time I fill you in on the trip I made to Vegas recently. I didn't say anything because you know the slogan What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I guess now that word is out I best get packing and get back out to L.A. The best part about all of this is that she is only 37. I finally found someone who is cool and looks great that close to my age.

What are Radio Personalities?

So today as I was searching for jobs and going over my resume I kept thinking about this:

Why do people think radio personalities are idiots? As I was discussing my resume with someone they said to me, "So you have all this radio experience, but you don't want to be in radio?" I simply responded with "No." It's about a career change. Most radio people are creative. I have now ventured into another creative career and I love it. BUT every time someone sees my resume they say, "But you did radio." My response is always yes I did and it was great. To which they say we don't have anything in radio. Again it's my resume it shows my experience and it also includes non-radio jobs I have done.

I did radio and would do it again if the right opportunity came along. Just because one has done radio doesn't make them not hire-able.

Here are just a few things about radio people (in no particular order):
1. Intelligent
2. Creative
3. Think on their feet
4. Can improvise on just about anything
5. THEY HAVE PERSONALITY!

If there is one thing I learned over the past couple years in school is that most of these creative kids that I have gone to class with can't speak. They can draw or Photoshop their ass off, but can't hold a conversation. This is publicly or one on one. The last time I checked being able to communicate is still a big priority to employers. I will say, this is where the internet has changed things for kids. When I grew up you had to speak to everyone. You couldn't just text someone, grab a cell phone, or send an instant message. It was about setting up a meeting and being face to face with people.

What am I getting to here? I really have no idea. I guess I am tired of people thinking that radio people just get into the business because they can't do anything else. We get into the business just like everyone else did for their career..Because we love it, and that's why we do it. Has the business changed? You bet. Is it going to get better? Maybe, but at the moment it's heading towards the internet and not the FM dial.

I like to think that my potential employers will look at my resume, and think here is a guy who has been around and knows his sh*t. I think my resume is pretty damn good, and compared to a lot of people I have experience and that goes a long way.

Again I went back to school for a career change. I still want to be in the entertainment business. I will have my own business very soon. I also want to work for a great company whether its back in radio, or even something new with a record label, movie company, management company or even an ad agency. I look forward to the future and what it's bringing except the school loan payment.

More Mindless Ramblings

Greetings Earthlings:

Back up to speed on things you might have missed...Two weekends ago I spent my Saturday doing an all day radio sponsored concert down here in Orlando with WJRR. I am not sure why but most radio personalities are just idiots. The staff especially the girl who does 10a to 3p is a f**king windbag. Maybe I am just coming to terms that I am not a fan of chick DJ's? That could be it, but I know there some that are really good.

The bands were awesome though...Sevendust, KORN, Hellyeah were the highlights for me for the day.

Started a new class for school last week and its pretty cool. I love learning things about the web and all it has to offer...you know besides porn.

Last weekend I took it easy on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday was a different story. Myself and some friends tied one on in Lake Mary. Another game of liquor ring toss is in the books and that game went so well I don't even remember all the shots I did except the last one which was Jim Beam.

I also put together a music video for the band Drowning Pool just for shits and giggles and to refresh my skills in Final Cut Pro. Check it out:

There is nothing like video editing, its definitely one of my favorite things to do. I hope to land a gig doing that very soon.

Been a Long Time

As I get back into the swing of things for blogging...There has been a lot of new music lately. First make sure you pick up the new Drowning Pool. A solid CD from beginning to end. Of course the second one for the band with same singer Ryan McCombs, who fronted the band Soil for three albums. You can catch these guys on tour this summer on Ozzfest, which I believe is a joke this year, but that's a whole different story.

Godsmack also just released "The Oracle" and many have you heard the tune Crying Like a Bitch, and I can say if you are into that one you will not be disappointed, but then again you can't really be disappointed by a Godsmack CD.

Finally, in the mew music department Jackyl released "When Moonshine & Dynamite Collide" today. Once I get home I will be purchasing this CD. Check out the video for their lead single "She's not a Drug":

Good Stuff. Look for them on tour even though I believe the band needs to find a new guitar player so Jesse doesn't have to play. Not that he is a bad player but he is such a great front man that you don't quite see the same show as you used to when he didn't play guitar.

Mindless Ramblings

Here I am sitting around watching TV on a Saturday night (yes I know it's an exciting life I lead). I am watching some reruns of the show Wipeout, which makes me laugh my ass off. I don't even care that the course is impossible...it just cracks me up watching people bust their ass. So as I am watching and in a great mood the ASPCA commercials come on and man they are so freaking sad. Now I am against animals being put down and abused just as much as the next guy, but does it have to come on right in the middle of my hilarious TV watching? Talk about a downer. I hate that commercial. No matter what it just makes you feel terrible.

On the upside only about six weeks to go for school. It's crazy how fast this time has gone. I am just doing some freelance gigs right now as school winds down.

I love going to class two times a week for less than 8 hours each day.

My training sessions continue and I continue to get my ass kicked. I have even started walking / jogging in the evening. I don't know what has gotten in to me, but I like it.

Now with all my downtime I manage to do a lot of web surfing and watching youtube.com way to much. The other day I decided to just browse old 80's hairband videos and it was awesome. It's amazing that MTV used to play those videos. I stumbled on this one and I remember this chick Lorraine Lewis...man she is/was so freaking hot. Just watch this video

The Pain is Here

So as I mentioned in the previous post that we are finally in the downhill swing with school so I have some free time on my hands...So I lined up a vacation in August after I have graduated to go to St.Lucia. Which then made decide it's time to get my ass in shape...you know the typical I need to look good for the beach. As luck would have it I did a website for a fitness trainer and man is she kicking my ass. Just started last week and man I have been in some pain. I keep telling myself pain is good in this case. Legs hurt, yep, abs really hurt, yep, shoulders hurt, you betcha...It's crazy but she keeps telling me it will payoff. We shall see. It's not her that has me worried it's my own eating habits, but so far so good. I have began eating the "what's good for you" stuff. We will see if I can stick to it. I'm feeling good about right now.

I have been hearing a lot of hype on this Chickenfoot CD and I must say it's good...but only OK good. It's nothing spectacular. To me it sounds Van Halen-ish with Sammy on vocals. I will admit I like hearing Satriani with a band instead of his solo stuff. You can check it out though I think it's worth it especially when you consider what's out there for music now days.

I am currently listening to the new Robin Trower CD called "What Lies Beneath". I must say you can't be disappointed by Robin Trower. Of course to me nothing will compare to "Bridge of Sighs", but this new one is pretty good.

OK..off to make a strawberry protein drink. At least I sound official right?

The Downhill Swing

Well it's down to the final two months of school. Our class now is to just work on our portfolio. The good thing about going two days a week this month is we have five days off in between.

I have decided at this point that web design is what I am going to focus on, but will continue to work with video and the other media that I have learned at school. I have also decided to continue on and get my Masters Degree in Entertainment Business. I am not sure what I am getting myself into, but it should be interesting. Hopefully over the next couple months there will be a new bryanshaw.com and also a new mfnrocks.com

I have also spent a lot of time on youtube these days. There is so much stuff out there it's ridiculous. I still always end up watching music videos since there really is no outlet for that anymore.

A Ton of Stuff

So here it is a Saturday night and I'm just waiting to head out with some friends and thought I would give an update on the ol' blog.

First thing is...I am pretty sick of seeing Obama on TV. I am sick of hearing about his first 100 days. Let the man work...I don't care what your political views are and I don't care who you voted for. I am also tired of hearing how awesome he is and blah blah blah..I am tired of hearing how Bush has fucked everything up. At some point the comedians will have to start talking shit about Obama. Or will they? Even though they do make jokes about Biden...Everything that's going on right now is Bush's fault. Bush hasn't been in office now for a few months and people still talk about him like he is still in office. And one last piece of ranting...Janeane Garofalo the most unfunny woman EVER needs to shut the hell up to. The tea partys happening are not about hating our President. Dumb bitch. For those of you who haven't seen or heard about this... here it is...

Man that chick is so not funny. Keith Olberman is a dumb ass too. Yes I know it's old but again whatever...It's my blog.

I happen to watch Fox news and I happen to think I am quite intellectual.

Now for the most important rant...I stayed down at the Ron Jon resort again in Cocoa Beach last night and had an awesome time. This morning though I was awakened by a screaming little kid at 7:45a.m. Now I understand kids are going to scream but not everyone wants to be awakened at 745 in the morning. Needless to say it was a rough morning.

Down to the final stretch in school. Three months left. Working on web projects for the next three months is going to be cool. A lot of coding and my brain will be mush after a while but it's going to be well worth it.

I am also wanting to get into video. This was a video I did back in October last year. Let's put the views over 1000.

Oh the 80's

So today I was watching the former hot "sluts" I mean women who were "groupies" I mean friends of the 80's metal bands on VH1 Classic. Damn.. I can only wonder what it was like to have lived in LA in the 80's. I will say some of these chicks on this show "Did it for the Band" are still pretty hot. MILF's if you will.

Bobbie Brown hosts the show and she has put on a few pounds but still looks good. You remember her right? Well if not.. here is the video:

Man watching this show certainly brings back some memories.

Like the hair bands or not it comes to the music they wrote was just about having a good time. Who really wants to hear about your life sucking? Not me...One or the other there was some decent music to come out of that time.

As I always tell my friend Sharen to have grown up in a time when there was kick ass rock coming out like Zep, and Sabbath and Deep Purple you just can't beat that. I am glad that I was turned on to that music when I was younger. People just don't know what they are missing.

Oh well like I said earlier some of these women still look pretty good but when it comes to seeing these bands in concert now days...The chicks aren't what they used to be.

One last thing.. Lita Ford...still looks damn good...

Well...it has been a while and I am sure I have lost 5 of the 6 people who used to actually read this but that's ok.

I have just been super crazy with school lately which has been the reason for the lack of updates. Only 4 months to go which is crazy.

Got away from Winter Park over the weekend and headed to Port Canaveral, FL just outside Cocoa Beach and that was awesome..Hung out with some friends and made some new ones as we downed more drinks than I have in a long ass time. It was pretty awesome having an ocean view all weekend long. I will live at the beach sooner or later, it's just so damn relaxing.

Man it's hard to believe it's almost Christmas...This month of class is every other day which is awesome only 8 days left and that is just crazy.

I have also spent sometime with the new Axl Rose CD. I just refuse to call it Guns N Roses since it really isn't. I have spent some time with this CD and while I like about 8 or 9 tracks it certainly isn't worth waiting 17 years for. After 17 years you best be re-inventing Rock N Roll. This CD is just a bit shy of that. I have yet to read a bad review of the CD anywhere which leads me to believe that the record company has spent a lot of money making sure this disc gets a good word. It looks like it's only going to have sold about 275,000 copies in it's first week. Not what you would expect for a disc 17 years in the making even in our digital world.

Spent sometime back in St. Louis over the holiday weekend and it's just to cold to live there. Tried to do the tourist thing while I was there but it just didn't happen. I tried to go up in the Arch..Nope. A two hour wait. Tried a helicopter ride..Nope. A 45 minute wait. So I said screw it went to the AB Brewery and took that tour and then proceeded to get drunk. It was nice.

Not a damn thing to report other than it's about that time to wrap up my game class. I can't tell you how happy I am to be done. I am not a gamer at all and this has to have been the worse class in 13 months. Crazy to think it's almost over. Nine more months.

Tonight there just might have to be beers to be drank in celebration. There are also more things on the horizon...New personal website, business site and more all coming in the next couple weeks.

So just because I have not said anything important I think I should post some hot chick...

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

This past weekend was all about the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. If you have not witnessed this show you must. It is the most incredible show you will see. The light show alone will have you coming back to see them, not to mention the band is some of the best musicians around.

I think this was my fourth or fifth time seeing them and I think it was the best yet. I got to see some different players this time and more hot musician chicks. I always ask myself where do they find them?

All the pics were even taken with my iPhone. Not to bad I must say. My friend Kenny Kaplan hooked me up with some awesome seats. He never lets me down.

Anna Phoebe is pictured above and not only is she hot but damn she is kick ass on the electric violin.

The pictures speak much more than I could ever tell you about this band. Great musicians, great show, and a must see for people of all ages.

Reality T.V.

So anyone who has read this blog even a little knows that I am hooked on "reality" T.V.

Tonight I sit down to catch up on Celebrity Rehab and DAMN!...is really all I can say. Some of the cast this time around is Steven Adler, Tawny Kitaen, Amber Smith, Gary Busey, and Jeff Conoway. The show is worth it alone for Gary Busey the guy is just plain off his rocker man. Then throw Jeff Conoway in again (he was there last season also) and it's simply great television. What a difference a decade makes. Tawny Kitaen is just plain ..well how do I put it nicely? She has just hit the wall! Hard. On the other hand though there is Amber Smith who has to be one of the hottest women to walk the planet. I can say this because even when she is puking her brains out she still looks AMAZING! That my friends is hot. (haha) Let's take a moment and look at her:

Steven Adler is just out there. It's pretty unreal how fucked up these stars are. I'm hooked on it. Have I mentioned how hot Amber Smith is? Well let's look again.

The Blue Angels and Great Song Lyrics

This past weekend I headed down to Kennedy Air Force Base to check out the Blue Angels air show. It was awesome the first time I had been down to NASA as well as my first air show. The show can be summed up by saying INCREDIBLE!

The F-18 Superhornet was first and this jet flies by at like 600mph. Freaking crazy! To top it off that's not even top speed for this thing. It was the loudest thing I had ever heard in my life.

Also in the air show was the aerobatic demonstration by Michael Goulian, a mock water rescue with two HH-60's and a C-130, P-51 Mustang Demonstration, F-104 Starfighter, Air Force Reserve Biplane, the Screaming Eagles parachute demonstration, F-16 Viper, F-4 Phantom, B-25J bomber and rounding out the day the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

I have never witnessed such amazing shit. I really do not know how else to put it. I mean when I looked at the schedule of events I had no idea what any of those planes were and still really don't. Other than the fact they are bad ass mofo's and fly really fucking fast. I sat there the entire show thinking to myself I am proud to be an American. We have some impressive stuff. As I mentioned earlier I thought that one jet passing over at less than top speed was loud and scary but what goes through the minds of people we are fighting against and there is a fleet of those damn things droppin bombs and flying over.

The Blue Angels were awesome...and that's not even the right word. They just leaving you saying what the fuck?! How? Amazing! It's really something to be seen if you ever have the chance. During their history, 26 Blue Angels pilots have been killed in air show or training accidents. That's incredible when you think about what they do, their speed and the tricks they do.

Now as impressed as I was with the Blue Angels I got my hands on the new Nickelback CD and I will say the lyrics that Chad Kroeger writes are pretty impressive. Seriously check out these lyrics:

I really need to keep up with the writing. Halloween is over and I really didn't do a hole lot. Had dinner with some friends and a few beers and called it a night. The one thing I love about Halloween ever since I was old enough to realize this is the fact that this is the holiday that every chick dresses up so slutty because they can get away with it. I LOVE that. It always gives the girls who would like to dress in next to nothing but can't the opportunity to dress like that as well. Revealing maybe is a better word. Hell I really don't know...but you get the idea. I haven't been out since I lived in LA and went as Gregg Allman. Then again looking like Gregg Allman is an everyday thing. Or now Ryan McCombs from Drowning Pool.

Also over the past couple weeks I headed to the House of Blues to see a show. I saw Theory of a Deadman, Black Stone Cherry and the Parlor Mob. Let me start this off by saying I honestly didn't think anyone could be more boring than the Black Crowes live but holy shit it happened. Theory of a Deadman was a real fucking yawner. These guys didn't do a damn thing but stand in one spot the entire night. I was better off saving my beer and ticket money and listening to the CD blasting in my house. The only thing different about them and the Black Crowes is well Theory of a Deadman at least play songs you know.

Black Stone Cherry is awesome! This band has so much energy and just puts on an incredible show. I actually decided I was going to have to buy their CD at the show. Which I did and I must say it's pretty damn good. The guitarist Ben Wells is great. i haven't seen guitar playing from a young band in years. If you get a chance you must check them out. Kiss, Drowning Pool, Politics

Everyone by now knows how much of a fan I am of Kiss (sarcasm mode on) but now they and by they I mean Gene Simmons has gone to far. The newest product to come down the line from Kiss is Mr. Potato Head dolls. Yes that's right Mr. F**king Potato Head dolls. I give that a big WTF! Nuff said.

Now on to Drowning Pool...My friend Sharen and I headed to Biketoberfest in Daytona on Saturday to see Drowning Pool, Saliva and Candlebox. We saw some pretty awesome bikes while we were there of course. We also got to meet the guys from Drowning Pool. These guys are super cool...again it's hard to find bands that are just assholes, but they are out there. *cough* 7 Mary 3 *cough* and *cough* Eric Singer *cough* but hey who's mentioning names? It was pretty funny actually meeting Ryan McCombs I swear that guy is my long lost brother. Even the guys in the band mentioned it. Check out the pic:

If you get the chance to see these guys live do so. They are incredible. Rocked the fucking house for about an hour. I will not miss another show of theirs. I tell you in the last 3 months I have seen 2 of the best concerts this past one with Drowning Pool and back at the end of August with Godsmack. Drowning Pool amazing. It has been a while...Lots of Sh*t

It looks like it's been about two weeks or so since the last post and well...there is of course some things to talk about.

First of all passed my PHP class..and damn that stuff is hard but it's cool the shit you can do with it. Now I am in Game Content Creation and Digital Video. Mixed emotions on this month. I am not a fan of video games other than the occasional Rock Band or Guitar Hero and that is very rare, but I am not a gamer never really have been since I got rid of my Commodore 64. It's crazy all these kids in class that love games and spend hours and hours playing..it just blows my mind. I want an Atari 2600 that's where it's at. Oh those were the days.

Now Digital Video class that's what I'm talking about. I mean seriously how else am I supposed to get a job at Vivid Video with no video experience? Our project in this class is to make a three to five minute video on anything we want...Do they know what I could come up with in that amount of time? I might end up meeting the head honcho at school if I don't watch myself on this project.

Made it to the beach last week and well it's about damn time to actually see some chick in a thong bikini who CAN ACTUALLY WEAR IT! I will never understand people who go out and honestly don't look in the mirror and say to themselves...OH SHIT! I will never understand it.

Oh that was nice.

One last thing...Why is it that musicians and actors talk shit about politics? I don't get it. I am tired of hearing every election year that if so and so wins they are going to leave the country and yet no one ever does. I am a firm believer in the fact that if you play music, act or play sports for a living shut the fuck up and do your kick ass job. No one and I mean no one wants to hear your political stance. And if you are a person who needs to have someone tell you how to vote then just fu*king don't vote. Do some research and vote for who you think is best. I would love to play music, sports or act and make a shit ton of money and keep my mouth shut on political views.

Some Random New Sh*t

It has been an interesting few weeks which is why the lack of posts. My action script class was a tough one. I did manage to make a pretty cool game which I will post soon just have to make a few final touches.

This month it's web project. Basically we are making a portfolio website for ourselves, which is pretty cool. I got a nice jump on the project since I had already built a site after my first HTML class. It's awesome how school has flown by. I can't believe it's been almost a year already and have less than that to finish.

Went to Daytona Beach a couple times over the last couple weeks and it's just plain awesome over there. The waves were huge due to the tropical storms and it was kick ass just running out in to the ocean and getting your ass kicked by the waves and letting them just carry you back. These are the times I wish I knew how to surf. I watched some dude way the hell out surfing and I was so jealous.

Speaking of tropical storms and hurricanes. Ike was freaking unreal. That Ike he was a killer.(sarcasm folks) Not to mention he was the size of Texas. One thing I don't understand is why do we need to see news reporters in the middle of the damn thing. We already know the weather is bad and it's windy out. I don't need to see the reporter get blown away to believe it. BUT it finally happened. I love this clip of watching Geraldo get knocked over by the wind. Had the cameraman been doing his job this video would be much funnier but hey this is still funny. Let's watch.

HAHAHA.. damn that still makes me laugh. It's amazing Geraldo must have 900 lives..He's been shot at, fought with white supremacists and even knocked over by a hurricane and then some, yet he's still standing...I just don't get it. After all the crap he's seen you might think he will have this crazy death, but he will probably be one of those guys who dies in his sleep or something.

It's been a while...but I am a busy mofo...well kind of...not really...Started our new classes last week and man this shit is tough. This month of Flash is all action scripting and coding sucks. You know your bad at coding when you can't even copy the shit correct.

The cool thing about this class is we get to build a video game in flash. I will keep it a secret as to what I am going to do until it's done. I will tell you it's based on the old Frogger video game.

3D is still 3D. I'm starting to get the hang of things.

The G-Smack Was Put Down Up Thee

Five days off and some beer was put down. Let me start by saying Godsmack was fucking awesome! That was my third time seeing them and by far the best time. Sully is definitely a bad ass on stage. If you have never seen them you should do so when they tour again. Sully mighty midget or not the guy can play and sing his ass off..he earns his money theres no doubt.

Alter Bridge was the opener and well they were kind of a let down. The sound was pretty bad for them way to much low end. It was just ridiculous...I swear my nuts were about to vibrate right the hell out of my pants...To much info? Tough shit.

The rest of the weekend was a damn good time as well as my friend Sharen was in town for the show. Chilled out on Sunday and Monday, but did put away some beers on Monday as me and some friends headed to Cocoa Beach. Let me start this next idea by saying if you are comfortable being who you are then good BUT you need to remember there are other people who have to look at you also.

By that I mean when you go to the beach some people might want to throw on the one piece. When a woman wears a bikini and it looks like your ass and stomach are eating your swimsuit that means 1) it's to small and 2) its time to find a one piece or at the very least a bigger bikini. Same goes for the guys.. Speedos = NO! NEVER! It doesn't even matter what you look like. Do that shit at your own house. Thats what I do..haha(sarcasm turned on)

After we left the beach we hit Tip A Few a nice little dive bar to grab some food. It was the best burger I have had in a long time. Good place I will definitely be back.

Yesterday was a total waste didn't do a damn thing.

It was back to class today for another round of 3D.

I wonder if I can do 3D for Vivid Video?

Thursday..but to Me it's the Weekend

Today is Thursday but we are off school until next Wednesday what in the hell will I do with my time. I can tell you this...it will be with an ice cold Budweiser in hand that is for sure. The Godsmack show makes the cut.

That show is tomorrow night with Alter Bridge.. This will be a good show. It's crazy I have actually bought tickets to two concerts this year. That is just unheard of. After working in the music industry for so long it's just plain weird buying concert tickets. I definitely pick and choose my shows now. I felt this one and Cruefest were worth the money.

I guess I will also have to make a beach run one of these days as well.

Budweiser's all around. Beers up. Wait... I think I hear someone knocking.. Could it be Vivid Video?

It's been a while huh.. Well nothing really exciting has been happening. I can just say that Godsmack and Alter Bridge is Friday and I'm stoked to see this show. I can't wait to see Sully the other Mighty Midget. Dio being the original Mighty Midget. These guys both need a step stool to kick a duck in the ass. Height doesn't matter this song still kicks ass..

I did make a funny observation yesterday at the gym. This dude wore his shades the entire time during his workout..I am pretty sure this was not a case of him needing to wear them other than him just thinking he was a bad ass...which he wasn't. I thought it was quite comical and certainly got my day started with a good laugh.

I was watching the news today and I heard that Snickers had to pull one of their TV commercials since people were bitching that it was making fun of gay people. Lets watch..

All I can say is...If the shoe fits...

Today is the last day of 3D for this month and all I can say is Thank God! Who wants to build a house in a 3D class? Not this guy that's for sure. I don't need to know how to build a house to go work for Vivid Video when I'm done with school. (now that's funny)

Back to Class

Well it was quite the lazy weekend. I must say you have to have those every once in a while. Went and played miniature golf on Sunday night then proceeded to get a nice little buzz on after. One problem from Sunday night was the fact that I had to pay 10 bucks for a pitcher of Coors Light! What the hell?! I have never paid ten dollars for a pitcher of Coors Light in my life. Talk about getting screwed. I didn't even get a kiss first either.

Yesterday I went to the ATM machine and it was one of the newer ones where you just slide your check into the machine...well that was nice since it just ate my check and then I had to call some 800 number to get everything situated. What a pain in the ass. I will say this that thing rips that check out of your hand so damn fast.

The rest of the day was uneventful. Sat on my ass watching TV and playing some guitar.

The Weekend

Well for a three day weekend for us school kids it has been quite relaxing so far. Friday night I did absolutely nothing. Saturday I ended up at the beach and it was good to get away. Cocoa Beach was pretty dead for a Saturday, but you can always find a couple hotties no matter what.

Later on did a whole bunch of nothing. I sat and watched the new Ted Nugent DVD Sweden Rocks and that is the biggest misleading title ever. It was filmed at some festival over there in '06 and I have to say the Swedes don't know much about Uncle Ted. For more than half the show the crowd just really isn't into it, but there are some die hards there for sure. I had to post this vid from Aerosmith and Mr. Nugent from 1978 performing Milk Cow Blues.

FUCKING AWESOME!

Watching that performance makes me think the only one who enjoyed that was Ted and Brad Whitford. I still say you can't beat old Aerosmith. You can see how fucked up they are in that video footage. Good stuff

I also checked out the new Tesla DVD. That DVD does not dissappoint either. Great behind the scenes footage and the concert it awesome. Frank Hannon and Dave Rude just rip it up on guitar. Here's a clip with former guitarist Tommy Skeoch on guitar.

Acoustic or plugged in Tesla is one of the great bands to see live.

Another Day Another Dollar

Yesterday for the first time in a long time I was excited about some new music to come out. The new Tesla DVD arrived in stores and I can't wait to get my hands on it. They are a great bunch of guys and one hell of a rock band. This video has some pretty funny shit in it. Just watch for the captioning.

They will have a new CD out in September or October of this year of all new material.

Also yesterday the new Jesse James Dupree from Jackyl solo CD hit. I like JJD but what's the point of putting what you think are 20 songs on the CD only to find out that about nine of those tracks are some intro bullshit that no one cares about? Just leave that shit off the CD. Waste of time and space. Just write another damn song.

What a weekend. A weekend of basically nothing. Which I must say was awesome to just sit around and do a whole lot of nothing. Saturday night was the only time I really did anything and that was the usual hanging out with friends and drinking some beers.

I managed to mess around in photoshop yesterday and I must say the more I play around in that program the more I love it. It's amazing the things you can do with it.

Today it's back to flash class. I'm already looking forward to this weekend since it's a three day one for us.

Well before I head out for today I had to post this video. It's wrong but hilarious. Not to mention the kid doing the videos actually likes doing them and has been in some indie films.

The song is called "Too Drunk" and I must say it's catchy as hell. They played this song at the Cruefest and I dug it then. Short and to the Point

To start off my morning I headed to the gym and the worst part was I forgot to charge my ipod last night. That I guarantee will never happen again. The gym has on XM38 which has to be the crappiest music I have ever heard. It's some pop shit, but it's not even tolerable pop shit. The entire time I was there I just wanted to shoot myself. The best though was when the DJ is introducing a song by the shittiest band on the planet Fall Out Boy and he says their new CD is going to have guitar riffs like AC/DC. Back from Summer break and man was it worth it. I loved every second of it.

Before the Cruefest earlier last week I saw Tantric and they put on a good show. The Social here in Orlando is a killer place to see a show. The only bad thing was I got gum in my damn hair. What the f*ck?! I was not happy. Luckily it wasn't a lot, but I couldn't get the scene from Something About Mary out of my mind. I came home and got it out with some ice.

I must say the Cruefest was awesome. First and foremost Motley Crue was the best I had seen them in years. Vince could sing the show was awesome everything was just right for those guys that night. Buckcherry was pretty good..I must even admit that Papa Roach was good too...they were much better than I was expecting. Sixx A.M. was also good, but the problem is that music is just so damn depressing. I know it's written about Nikki's bouts with heroin, but still it's just such a downer not really something I need to see or hear live.

Headed down to Cocoa Beach for the 4th and that was cool had a killer dinner at a place called Fishlips in Port Canaveral. Watched some fireworks on the beach with my friend Sharen who came in to visit. There really wasn't a city fireworks display so we just watched a bunch of people who were lighting off theirs on the beach. It was pretty cool.

Today I start 2 more new classes 3D and Flash. This should be a cool month of learning.

I love my birthday not because of the party or anything like that it's just I know I will have the day off. The beginning of my summer break has been pretty slow and relaxing but now it's time to throw down some ice cold Bud's. Tonight going to hang with some friends and strip club trip maybe in order..Then it's off to Cruefest tomorrow in Tampa and Cocoa on Friday. Damn I can't wait.

Now check this shit out.. Last night I'm watching the news and they caught a freaking serial killer in my hometown of Granite City, IL. That's just plain crazy. Nothing ever happens there.. NOTHING. To top that shit off they caught him out side of Bindy's bar. That's like the only place to go when I ever visit there.

Also here recently I have been on a kick listening to some Jackyl. I love just good ol' shit kicking rock n roll. Jackyl has always been just a kick ass straight up rock band and I happen to think Jesse James Dupree is a great frontman. I love this clip from their DVD.

Winding Down

Once this week is over I will be on summer break. I can't wait to just hang out and do nothing but hit the beach and do some drinking. I'm not really sure what the week off will bring other than my birthday... As I mentioned before get those gifts in the mail and I DO ACCEPT CHECKS.

The weekend was good..Saturday night went and had some beers with friends and I swear the first beer I had never tasted so good. Headed over to a little dive bar and watched some kareoke. I hate that shit, but it's always funny to see people sing and really get into it. One guy sang Pearl Jam like Katherine Hepburn would have sang it. It was classic. Every once in a while you hear someone who can sing pretty decent but not to often.

The rest of the weekend I basically just laid around other than hitting the gym and doing some errands.

Here We Go Again

Today I was doing some reading on a few of my favorite music sites and I read that there has been more leaks on the new Guns N Roses CD. I don't know why I care since the first 5 or 6 songs I've heard already are mediocre at best. Curiosity got the best of me and I tracked them down and well I'm still a little disappointed. It's been about 13 years or something and Axl has blown millions of dollars on this CD and at this point I should be ready to hear the fucking "Wall" by Pink Floyd. NOPE! Not even close. I don't know why he is singing like he is one some of these songs. I will be the first to admit that Axl is not the greatest singer int he world, but a few of these songs sounds like someone is squeezing the life out of that guy or stepping on a cat I'm not sure which. I know that nothing will ever beat the original line up of GNR, he should be able to put together better stuff than this at this point. Whether you have heard these songs or not let me just say don't get high hopes for this CD. The songs that I really like are all ballads and my friends that is not what GNR is/was about. GNR was about in your face rock n roll. A big fuck you to the music industry not ballads even though I think "Estranged" and "November Rain" are incredible songs. I say just release Chinese Democracy and get it the hell over with so people can stop wondering about what they are missing which in the big picture is not much of anything.

It's really a shame knowing that this band was one of the biggest bands in the world and put out such kick ass music that is has came down to this. I'm going to reminisce for a few here...Check out this video...Axl looking like a giant fly but its kick ass.

I still love the Use Your Illusion CD's as well.

And I even was at this freaking mess and yet I still love this band.

Celtics Win!

After a good month off I think I'm doing pretty good keeping things updated here. Watched the Celtics whip the Lakers ass last night. That was incredible. In the words of the announcers..."This is just embarrassing for the Lakers".

I managed to listen to the new Shinedown CD today. Damn that record is kick ass, and by far their best yet. Damn I can't believe I just said that. I always hate when bands say that about their new CD, but in this case it's true. Also listened to a new Jesse James Dupree track called Rev It Up and Go Go and I'm digging that song as well. It's pretty hard to please me musically these days as I don't believe there is much good stuff out there anymore. It's really a shame when you think about how shitty the music biz is now. I think Metallica is probably one of the last bands that will continue to have a career. Most of the bands now are just shit. One hit wonders if that. I'm kind of glad I'm out of that business but yet I find myself missing it at the same time. Being able to leave 93.3 KDKB on my terms was great. It was really cool to have a kick ass boss that didn't make me just leave when I gave notice. Thanks Buzz.

Today it's psychology. This class bores the hell out of me, but the teacher keeps things interesting I guess that's because she is pretty hot.

Just keeping up with my updates..Nothing new to report today. Off to my web design class to present my pre-production, but that's about it. Everything else is business as usual.

Listened to the new Judas Priest CD and this one is going to take some time to get used to. Rob Halford still has an awesome voice, but the concept idea is not one I expect from Judas Priest. ( I also need to give an honorable mention to JP as well for great band names see previous post)

It's a new week..So I thought I would catch you up on the weekend. Actually I will go back to Thursday when I got a chance to catch up with my friend Cindy in Phoenix. You can check out her blog here. She's super cool and pretty damn hot.

Friday rolled in pretty mellow, but then I headed over to some friends apartment and played some drinking games. I got a nice buzz, but left before it got out of control. I just find myself now days to not want to get completely f'd up. Is that a sign of getting older? Probably. I like the fact that I can get up the next day go to the gym or just do other things without feeling like shit.

Saturday got up got a nice workout in. One thing still pisses me off are people who have to talk on their phone while they are working out. Nobody.. I repeat NOBODY is that important. Put the phone down for 45 minutes or whatever. You can call them back. That's just one of the beautful things about a phone. Got my drink on Saturday night as well. Good times at the Friendly Confines. I did manage to have a good conversation about the top 5 band names of all time. Here is my 5:

Sunday just lounged around and watched the Celtics / Lakers game. The Celts have to win. I hate the Lakers. They were only good when they had Dennis Rodman. Go Celtics.

Ok well almost two days. Cut me some slack I'm a college student.

So last night was just a night to kick back and relax. I sat down and tuned up the ol' Jenna Jameson Jackson Guitar and man does it play sweet. I would imagine it plays almost like she F**ks. Haha.. come on that was good.

I also watched the new episode of Swingtown on CBS. This show is absolutely the best show on TV. I didn't really grow up in the 70's, but this show is awesome. I guess it's partly due to the way it makes you think. They can't actually show the sex so you have to use your mind at some points and it's just awesome. Not to mention that the wife of the one swinger couple is hot. I am talking about Lana Parrila. Wow. Sexy as hell I say. Check her out for yourself:

So here it has been over a month and I'm curious does anyone still read this? I am sure there are the hardcore 10 people (kidding). I need to say thanks to Cyndi for the inspiration to post some new stuff. I know I have said this in the past, but I mean it this time I will make sure this is updated more often.

Lets see if I can summarize everything in a few paragraphs. I bought a new guitar. It's just plain bad ass. Here's a couple pics:

Well got the hell out of Motion Graphics class. Two months of that is just a bit much. It was cool to learn but man there is so much to learn. I swear sometimes my brain is just fried. I love the fact at school we get a Bachelors degree in 21 months but you just get overwhelmed. Two days off between classes is just not enough sometimes. Here is a link to the last couple of projects I did. The first an ad for Harley Davidson that was to target women to ride their motorcycles. I need to thank Ruby my friend at KDKB for doing the voice over.

This next one I will only post the 60 second version. The idea behind this was to do a 60, 30, and 15 second spot that would still maintain the same idea all the way through. I think the 60 is best. I did the project on AC/DC since their new CD will be out later this year. There is still no working title for the CD which is why there is no mention of it.

Now I have ventured into web design. It's amazing how much has changed in the world oh HTML and XHTML since I last did any web stuff. Not to mention also in Psychology this month and the teacher is hot. I can tell you I can't fall asleep in this class.

Finally finished up the latest motion graphics project. A 30 second animation for a product with a poster to go along with the ad. I decided to advertise the Drowning Pool CD Desensitized. I realize that the pics of the band include the newest singer Ryan McCombs and he is not the singer on that CD also I know that Desensitized is not their latest CD. The Greatest Commercial

Today I am watching the news and I see this story of a woman who woke up in the middle of the night to find out she had an alligator in her kitchen. Holy shit! I believe I would have died had I found this damn thing in my house. It was like eight feet. Damn just watching the story freaked me out. Gives me chills just writing this.

Have I mentioned I got a freakin' B in Physics. I am not sure how that happened...either I did amazing on the final or there was a hellacious curve. I'm going with the first one. This month has been absolutely crazy with class. Hours this month are 5p to 1a Tues thru Sat. Talk about shitty.

It's Official

I have passed Physics. I don't know what the grade was, but I can tell it certainly wasn't an "A". Who cares that class sucked. Today I start Typography and Page Layout and tomorrow is Motion Graphics. This month is going to be different since class times are from 5 p.m. to probably 1 a.m.

Over the last four days I haven't done a whole lot. It's been nice just relaxing. there was the stressful time when my 500gb hard drive decided to bite the dust. I took it to the Geek Squad and they managed to fix it and recover all the data.

I checked out Blade's blog and was reading about the band 7 Mary 3 and all I can say about that band is I like their first couple CD's but personally I think they are a**holes. I remember back when they were about to get dropped from Atlantic Records and we almost ended up in a fight with their tour manager. It was ridiculous. The rock band ego is something else. I remember them telling us they didn't need radio play and well look at them now. (insert cricket sound fx here) Playing in front of like 20 people. That has to suck.

As I was relaxing this weekend I went over to youtube and managed to find some classic 80's / 90's hair. I found some live footage of the band Mr. Big. Man there was some talented individuals in that group. Paul Gilbert on guitar and Billy Sheehan on bass. They were a fun band to see live. Check out this footage from Japan. (You know they were huge there)

I would like it to be noted that Paul Gilbert was the first one to use the drill on the guitar not Eddie Van Halen. EVH gets credit only because he is a more famous. Mr. Big and Van Halen were in the studio at the same time and both came out with "drill songs", but I think credit should go to Paul Gilbert since their album was released in March and VH was in June. So let it be written, so let him get credit. Got to love the style of singer Eric Martin with the collared shirt and even tucked in live on stage.(sarcasm turned on) What the hell is up with that? But I believe it was Blade who told me Eric Martin from Mr. Big had a hot wife so I guess I can let it slide.

Back to the Grind

Well break is over. I'm kind of sad yet happy to be going back to class. It's weird I am actually excited about school these days even though I hate Physics.

The trip to Raleigh was great. I didn't get a chance to see Blade but managed to have a couple funny conversations with him. I heard him on the air at 96 Rock and it was cool to hear him back on the air. I heard him and his sidekick discussing the greatest guitarists of all time. We all of course know it's Jimi Hendrix, but his partner on the show wanted to divide it up into sub categories. NO! It doesn't work that way. There is no such thing as a great modern rock guitarist. I am trying to think of who in the hell would be in that category.. ummm no one. Stupid.

Here is my top 5:

I think that is a pretty impressive list. I don't need to divide it up. I would say those guitarist have all been an influence to most that are in the music business.

Flight home read more of the "Slash" book and now up to where they fired Steve Adler. I will say this Slash was one heroin shooting dude. Damn. It's amazing he is still alive and kicking. Here is another clip from the old days of GnR.

Raleighwood

I decided to head to Raleigh at the last minute to round out the spring break. Yes I am aware that you should spend spring break where it's warm, but I figured what the hell. Every one I knew was out of town and I didn't feel like sitting on my ass for the last three days of vacation.

I am still reading the book on Slash. It is an awesome book. I am up to the part where they have finally hit the road as an opening act and headliner. Great stories. Not to mention Axl started even back then with not showing up to gigs. Slash speaks of the concert at the RItz in New York which aired on MTV all the time. I remember first getting into this album by watching this concert. He claims he doesn't like the performance but it was GNR and it was kick ass. Watch the clip:

Damn just watching that brings back some great memories. Appetite for Destruction one of the greatest albums of all time. Yes I said of all time. And Axl man what a skinny little bastard.

Yesterday was a trip to Hooters and had lunch with good ol' Rob and Jason. Two great guys from the RDU days. In reality two guys that are to nice to be in radio. Fun biz with lots of perks but you due tend to get shafted way to much. Anyway had a great time with them chatting about days past, school, TV and sports. I even stopped by Smoketree Tower to chat with the E-rock. Hung out with him for a few but I try to make it quick as there are to many people in the building I don't really want to see. Then last night me and my friend Sharen headed out and had some drinks and tied one on. Always fun throwing back a few with her.

I think today will be lunch with Blade. I can't wait to see his new mo-hawk. I'll tell you people that shave their heads get mo-hawks whatever are ballsier than me. I hate even see people get their head shaved it freaks me out. Always has even when I didn't have long hair. Always fun seeing him and catching up. I'm looking forward to hearing how it's going at 96 Rock.

Later hope to see the one and only Teke. Yes that is his real name. I always laughed when people thought that was his radio name. Nope not the case.

Of course tonight the last round of drinking for a while. I have to lay off the beer drinking during the week. I would like to see how long I could actually go with out beer. The longest so far was 17 days. We shall see.

Spring Break..Relax, TV, Reading..

But not necessarily in that order. Here it is Thursday and break is almost over and it has been a nice break. Started out by heading to Ft. Lauderdale then back up the coast on A1A. Stayed an evening on the beach just outside of Cocoa Beach, which was awesome. I am not one to lay out on the beach and get tan, but I love the ocean. Even just walking down the beach or whatever is cool.

I also have been rocking to the hot chicks in Drain S.T.H. lately. These 4 girls from Sweden could kick some serious ass. Enjoy:

Of course what would Spring Break be without some drinking? Nothing. So had to throw back some frosty Budweiser's. Managed to mess around with Photoshop and I love that freaking program. You can do so much with it and to think you can always learn something new about it.

I did some reading today on inventor Nikola Tesla. That guy got SCREWED. Marconi got credit for radio and Edison for electricity. The amount of stuff he invented or patented was incredible. I always knew about the radio and electricity, but some of the other stuff I had no idea such as: X-Rays, Radio, electro-magnetic power, AC electricity, Solar Heating, Vacuum Tubes, Remote Control Vehicles, Torpedoes, Force Fields, Microwave Transmissions, High Voltage Conductors, Wireless Communications, World Wide Broadcasting Systems, Transistors, Phosphorescent Lighting, The Heating Pat, Robots, Liquid Oxygen, Under Ground Power Lines, Cryogenics, Radar, Guided Missiles, and even Automobile Speedometers. He once produced an earth quake in New York City and blew out electric plants in Colorado with his experiments. Not to mention he could speak eight languages. How the hell can someone be so smart? I was pretty involved with reading about Tesla. Who knew the Internet had more than just porn?

Speaking of porn...I bought a new Sony handycam video camera and that thing is cool. Small and easy to use. It will be great for vacations, school projects, or in the words of my friend Todd a new amateur porn operation. That will first take some girls. Just a note... my amateur porn operation can be just girls. It does not have to involve me in any way other than the filming. That's another story but if your interested e-mail me. Kidding of course.. OK no I'm not.

Tomorrow it's off to Raleigh to end the vacation and hang with some friends. I really like NC. I think it's just going to be to cold for me. Even 50's is cold.

What the F**k is Juice?

Here I am in the 3rd week of Phizzicks and boy does it suck. I am shooting for a D in this class. It's amazing that we have gotten real books for every class and have never used any of them except for Algebra and Geometry. The hardest to date is Physics and we do not get a freaking book. Damn I'm pissed. How's a person supposed to study and prepare for a test without a book? Right it's pretty damn hard.

While I am scooting by in Physics I figured I would try and get a good student discount on insurance since I am a Straight "A" student still. My policy is to be renewed at the end of the month so I figured it was the perfect time to call. I make the call and the girl asks "What's my GPA?" I replied 4.0. Friends that's a 4.0 out of 4.0. She puts me on hold and comes back and says I am not eligible. WHAT!? How? She then tells me I am to old! Holy shit I couldn't believe it. In today's day and age and they stop giving good student discounts at the age of 24. Can you believe this shit. I'm in my early 30's and I am to OLD?

I realize that most students are still late teens early 20's, but here I am going back to improve myself and future and the piece of shit insurance companies won't give me a measly discount on my insurance. What the F*ck?

While Physics is a shitty class...I mean do I give a shit that if I throw a ball in the air that it comes down at the same speed I threw it up? Nope. Never have. Never will.

Digital Audio Design is kick ass. Making music and sound effects for movie clips is pretty damn cool. Of course a background in music does help me to enjoy this class even more. Catch Up Time

Lets go back to last Thursday when after Physics me and some friends decided to go grab a well deserved beer or three which turned into a lot. We actually ended up closing the place down. I also witnessed radio ego completely out of hand that evening. Let me start by saying that Orlando's "O-rock" station has flipped formats and let everyone go.

So the radio ego of the FORMER night guy there was completely ridiculous. He was hanging at the bar thinking he was still hot shit when in reality he is nothing anymore. I know this first hand once you have been fired no one gives to shits as to who you are. Yet it still amazed me how he thought he was still the coolest dude. Not to mention that when he would make an announcement it would be all distorted because he was to drunk and stupid to turn down the music that was blaring through the speakers at the same time he was trying to talk. What a fu*king moron. Also just a complete side note that no one gives a shit about radio personalities anymore. The biz sucks and people do not care who you think you are.

OK enough bitching...but it had to be done.

Friday turned into a typical Friday beers after class and then to a friends place to drink more.

Saturday ended up just killing some time for the first half of the day. Ate Chinese at a buffet and I have never had such bad Chinese food ever. Not to mention they didn't even have soft serve ice cream. What the hell is that all about? A Chinese buffet without soft serve ice cream. That would be like walking into a Mexican restaurant and not getting chips and salsa. It's just a given to have soft serve ice cream for dessert at a buffet of any kind.

The rest of Saturday was pretty laid back and relaxing.

Sunday left me doing laundry. My washing machine in this place makes me have to do a shit ton of loads in one day or like 1 load a day for a week. Tomorrow I will have to tell you about the lizard. Trust me it's good.

Thursday is our first test in Physics. Every other Tuesday we have a quiz. Can you say SUCK! Digital Audio Design is pretty cool. I'm having a great time with this class not to mention the teacher is cool.

I haven't checked out much music lately, but the newest has been the band Airbourne. These guys are like the 2008 version of AC/DC. Pretty much straight up rock and they also happen to hail from Australia. Here is a video from the guys and the song "Runnin' Wild".

I'm telling you even though it's Thursday I really miss Nip Tuck already. That show was so freaking good this year. The finale was awesome. Damn. If you haven't seen the show just skip last season since it really sucked ass. Move on to this one.

Today is the first day of Physics this should be interesting since I have never had this class and I am not looking forward to it. The teacher does seem like a cool dude though so should be ok.

First I will start with the bad news...

TORONTO — Acclaimed jazz and rock guitarist Jeff Healey was remembered Sunday as a musician of rare ability who had a wicked sense of humour and a generous nature as fans and bandmates mourned his death at age 41, following a battle with cancer.

Bandmates of Canadian rock and jazz legend Jeff Healey were among those shocked by the news of his death Sunday.

Healey died Sunday evening in a Toronto hospital surrounded by family and a bandmate, Colin Bray.

Bray, the bass player with Jeff Healey's jazz Wizards and the frontman's long-time friend, said he and many others expected the guitarist to rally from this latest illness.

"I don't think any of us thought this was going to happen," Bray said in a telephone interview. "We just thought he was going to bounce back as he always does."

Healey had battled with cancer since the age of one when a rare form of retinal cancer known as Retinoblastoma claimed his eyesight.

Bray said Healey had been hospitalized for a week and that his advanced lung cancer made his final hours difficult.

Healey had undergone numerous operations in recent years to remove tumours from his lungs and leg.

Bray and fellow bandmate Gary Scriven remembered their frontman as not only a world-class musician but an incredibly strong person with the capacity to motivate those he worked with.

Scriven called Healey inspirational and praised the boundless enthusiasm that allowed him to continue performing live only four weeks before his death.

"He drew his strength from somewhere, I don't know where, but it spread among the band and flowed into the audience," Scriven said.

Healey rose to stardom as the leader of the Jeff Healey Band, a rock-oriented trio that garnered a Juno award, international acclaim and platinum record sales with the 1988 album "See the Light."

But Bray and Scriven said Healey's true love was jazz, the genre that dominated his last three albums with the Jazz Wizards.

Healey's guitar prowess was characterized by a unique playing-style that saw him lay the instrument across his lap.

It led him to share stages with such rock luminaries as George Harrison, Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B. King, but Bray said jazz allowed him to exercise his other instrumental talents such as trumpet and drums.

Healey's love of jazz also led him to host radio shows on the CBC and a local Toronto station where he spun long-forgotten numbers from his personal collection of over 30,000 vinyl records.

But Bray said his "best friend" saw himself first and foremost as an entertainer and said Healey seemed to derive therapeutic benefits from playing live shows.

Recalling Healey's weakened condition at his final performance on Feb. 2 in Goderich, Ont., Bray said Healey seemed to draw strength as the set progressed.

"At the end of it, I can't believe how much better he looked. It was like blood to him."

Healey's death came weeks before the release of his first rock album in eight years.

"Mess of Blues" is slated for a North American release on April 22.
Healey is backed on the album by the resident band at Jeff Healey's Roadhouse, the blues club he founded and named after a 1989 Patrick Swayze movie in which he appeared.

The album features two live tracks recorded in the last few months of his life.

The Grammy-nominated musician is survived by his wife Christie and two children; daughter Rachel, 13 and son Derek, 3.

I am glad I got a chance to check out his concert before this tragedy. Jeff Healey was incredible to watch. If you do not have any Jeff Healey music you need to pick it up. It is some amazing music. I am glad to hear there will be one more Jeff Healey CD. It is amazing to listen to him play. Blind and the guy can still rip it up on guitar better than most who can see. Now on to some better news...

Yesterday turned out interesting. It was an awesome day outside mid 70's sunshine...So decided to meet up with some friends and play tennis and by play tennis i mean hit the ball around. I love playing tennis. I just cant serve worth shit. After a couple hours of that we got a wild hair and went to the driving range and hit some golf balls. Now I haven't played golf in years. In fact I have a brand new set of clubs still in the box that I bought when I was 18. Ended up using the ranges lefty clubs. It was good to see nothing had changed in years. I was still shanking the ball to the left. I don't know how golfers do it. I hit a bucket of 60 balls and I was beat. 7 bux though. I think that's a good deal.

Today starts a new month of classes. This month Digital Audio Design and Physics. I have never had a Physics class so should be interesting. Class doesn't start today until 5 so it's like a day off but not really.

It's just been to long. And for the 5 of you who read this blog there will be more regular posts since it seems this month should be a little slower for projects and such.

Finished up Geometry and parraragrams and I believe I pulled out an A in this class. We shall see. Advanced Computer Graphics was a killer class. I definitely enjoyed that one. It really pushed me in some different creative directions.

So we had a three day weekend and managed to get completely ripped on Saturday night. Started out driving to bike week in Daytona. That was cool. Some very cool bikes I hopefully will be able to make it back next weekend. After that made it back to Winter Park and headed over to what will be the new hangout. The good ol' friendly confines and even though it's a Chicago Cubs bar the deals they have will have me there regardless. After putting away a few pitchers there it was down to Hooters to watch UFC. Personally I don't really give a shit about that.

It had been a while since I really tied one on and this morning I know why. Hangovers just plain suck after you turn 30. Why is that? Whatever it is it's bullshit.

Here it is a week or so since the my last posting. Let me start with the math class. It sucks. There nothing like being taught Geometry by an asian guy who says rine and parraragram. Not making fun just the way it is and damn it sucks. You spend as much time trying to figure out what he said as you trying to learn what you are supposed to. Then it comes test time and you study your ass of and 14 of the 20 questions are true false. Damn. I hate true false. The whole proof thing in Geometry is also ridiculous or is it ridicorous? Ok now that was a shot. Anyway prove this and prove that in Geometry is just stupid shit. What kind of idiots sat around and got f'd up and thought of this math?

Anyway.. no onto the Grammys. It has finally been proven that this shit is so fake and judged by people who don't know shit about music. Or it's possible that that we can now see the state of the music industry and shitty it really is. Amy Winehouse and that god awful fucking song "Rehab" is the worst piece of shit I have heard in a long time. Yet she took home FIVE Grammys! What the hell is wrong with people? I ask anyone to listen to that piece again and tell me it doesn't suck. Damn not to mention that is worst looking chick I have seen in years. Wow I would do Jenna Jameson even as crappy as she looks before even looking at Amy Winehouse. I would be more afraid that I would get some god forsaken disease from Amy even though Jenna has been road hard and put away wet.

Another Day Another Math Class

I started a new month of classes yesterday with Advanced Computer Graphics and sometimes you feel like your in over your head well thats kind of how I feel with this class. The next couple months will definitely put us all to the test.

Today is the start of Geometry. Well I don't have much to say about it other than I hope there is a little more structure than our last class had. Plus lab again from 9p to 1a on Tues and Thurs and that sucks. Thats way to much math.

What a Super Bowl. Has to be one of the greatest games ever. I could not be happier that the Giants won. Not that I am a fan but to see the Patriots lose was the best.

Bill Belichick still goes down as the biggest asshole. I mean he is such a sore loser. All the interviews after the game with the players they could give credit to the Giants for playing a great game. Not Belichick. I have had better conversations with my f*cking wall. So much to talk about since I've been out of class since Thursday. Grab a cold one and enjoy...

First let me start off with when I watched this show on UFO's on Friday. What is with people and thinking there are aliens? Now I don't care if you believe or not...for me unless one lands in my front yard I'm going with they don't exist. Is that closed minded thinking? Maybe so..but why don't they ever land where there are people? they always land in the back woods of some dudes swamp. The best part of the show was when the question was asked if UFO's and aliens don't exist then why has the government tried to hide any info...Well have you seen the people who claim to have seen or been abducted by aliens? I wouldn't want to talk to these weird people either. It's really that simple.

I enjoy watching the Classic Album series on VH1 Classic. I love knowing what went into making some of the greatest albums in history. Today I checked out Judas Priest and British Steel. Awesome show. Plus I love finding out interesting facts like they recorded that album in Ringo Starr's house. Now how fucking cool is that? I love finding that stuff out. To cool. Plus learning how they added effects to songs back in the day is just something else. They actually used the silverware in Ringo's house to make sounds in the song "Metal Gods". Awesome.

As if that wasn't enough...I watched a clip of Paul Stanley on Fox Business channel today and what in the hell is up with this dude? How much plastic surgery can one guy take? I mean damn. It's not the fact that he has had surgery it's the fact that when you have that much F you money and the work that you have done is terrible it really doesn't leave me thinking you know the right people. It's like Gene Simmons. The guy has more F you money than anyone yet he has the worst hair EVER! Jeez and chicks still want to have sex with him. Where did I go wrong? Anyway back to Paul. He is now painting and as a guy who likes to draw if he put Joe Blow's name on his work he is down at the Holiday Inn on Sunday with the starving artist group. His shit sucks. While art is subjective and I know this but come on his work is a real freakin yawner!

Now finally today is the Big Game...and Go Giants! I can't stand the Pats or Bill Belichick. If anything maybe someone on the Giants accidently on purpose runs over that piece of shit coach and his horrible attitude. I know I'm in the minority on this but I'm still going for the Giants. Enjoy the game.

One day left of math. These next few months will definitely be the toughest so far.

More reality TV to watch though..I have cut back on some shows but still love to watch stuff like the Amazing Race, Survivor and of course the favorite once again is Bret Michaels and Rock of Love.

Now anyone who knows anything knows that this show is all for pure entertainment. This time around its ALL strippers and 80's rock chicks. And god bless them all they want to do is get naked and drink. Where do they find these bitches?

Outside of reality TV I watch Nip Tuck as you should know and this show is just plain amazing. Nothing like a funeral scene for one of Christians Ex's and they talk about how great she was at sex. There are some creative writers on this show.

Ok enough TV time to go and study for my last math test. Then it's off to Geometry.

I have been sick the last few days and whatever the hell I got knocked me on my ass since last Wednesday. Today is the best I have felt in a week. Trying to finish up my art project while sick just plain sucked ass. Needless to say I am pretty stoked now that my art project is done. So I got an extra day off this week. Hell Yeah!

I also want to extend my congrats to good friend Bob the Blade and his new gig at 96Rock in Raleigh. I'm a little jealous since he is doing an afternoon show again, but this time as a team. Something that I know both of us wanted to do but there were certain people in the CC helm that didn't think two guys talking on the radio was really what people wanted to hear. The listeners would rather hear the same 50 songs over and over and over...Yea great idea fellas...We see where that got ya.. Cock a fu*kin doodle do! Good luck Blade!

I will also say that everyone should be on the lookout for a LOUD rock band called SPLEEN. They are something else for sure.

I'm jumping all over the place here but today I got out of class early and I started watching shit on youtube and found more funny stuff, but one commercial I did stumble on did make me laugh my ass off. I think we all can relate to this one... lets watch:

Not sure how I did on the Math test.. I think I did pretty good but you just never know. That's what sucks about math it's either right or wrong.. there is no gray area..and if you miss a - sign or some shit it's just wrong. I hate it. It drives me to drink. Now we have moved into negative exponents and shit and I'm hating life. I ask again in what job do you need to know this? Nothing that I will ever do that is for damn sure.

College Math Blows

Man it has been a long time since the last post, but classes this time around have kept me way busy. Lets face it college math just plain blows! I hate it and I still have no idea who uses this shit in their real life.

Lately I have also had some real issues with my damn smoke detector. I swear I have had some weird shit happen with me and these devices for a long ass time. I thought I cleaned my stove good enough last time that when I went to use it tonight it would be fine. Nope. As soon as the door opened the smoke detector was beeping like a mofo. Man that is a horrible sound to hear. Not only because of the sound but because of the fear that just maybe your place is burning down. I guess I better clean the damn thing again.
Now over the weekend I painted for the first time since Art 1 in high school. I enjoyed it big time and below is a picture of the painting. It's on 16x18 canvas and I must say it looks pretty freakin' sweet.

This Design and Art Theory class has been pretty cool and really got me into drawing which I am really digging.

Also I found out from Blade that he thought my top 5 rock songs were "marginal". I think he is just plain nuts but I will leave that for another blog.. haha...He then told me to post my top 5 greatest hairbands... And I will post those next time which will probably be tomorrow after my damn math test.

It was an interesting Friday. My friends and I decided to go and check out a friends band with some friends. Mike Dunn and the Kings of New England was the group. Influenced by Tom Petty for sure. They were really good and it was in a small bar in downtown Winter Park. There were a few people there from school including other teachers, students and also the President of the school was there as well.

So my friends and I were like we need to say hello to him we were just waiting for the right moment. Then there it was he walked by us and my buddy says "Hi we go to Full Sail." He replied with great to meet you and we had some small talk about the band and the bar. After this conversation he asked "Can I buy you guys a beer" to which we all looked at each other like a bunch of fools and then said "Yes sir".

How many people can say that they hung out in the same place as the president of their school let alone have them buy you a beer on top of it. It was pretty freakin' cool and he was a nice dude.

Saturday was much more uneventful just sat around after the gym and drew in my sketch book. Here is one drawing, but I will post more in the future.

Sunday was good, but sucked because the Colts lost to the Chargers. To be honest I don't really care who makes it to the bowl other than the Patriots. I hate those f**kers.

Pervert Down the Hall

Ok first things first...It's now the first of the year and all the Christmas cards have been sent out and the funny thing about this year was how many of my own friends do not even know their own street address. The best email asking me to send them the card again came from my friend Zakk Tyler...Here's his email:

Hey Bryan, this could be the funniest shit ever. They gave me the wrong unit number when I moved in. I'm at 6****... but I bet my neighbor in 6**** thinks a pervert just moved down the hall! I have to include this embarrassing screw up (plus promote your holiday with porn stars bit which I think is hilarious) at least on my blog... can you email me a jpeg of the your annual xxxmas card (since I'm afraid to ask my neighbor!)

I laughed my ass off on that email. Let me just say that not all cards have pornstars in them. The girl in the card might be my own personal porn star but that's a hole different story. Not only that but every card comes in an envelope otherwise no one would get them because the mail people would steal them all. So here's a pic of this year's Christmas card.

So it's been a few days but I had to get settled with the new classes this month. My straight "A" record might be done this month with College Mathematics. I suck at math. Even though while sitting in class it started coming back, I still can't do fractions or percentages.

Design and Art Theory though is kick ass. I'm digging that class.

Other than that it's just business as usual. It did suck on the first day back to class going in a little hungover as me and a buddy made a stop at the Ale House and managed to tie one on. The night was also hilarious to see some whacked out chick start talking to us even with her saggy tits down to her waist. I'm pretty sure she had no bra on. Shut the place down and we watched her do about 90mph out of the parking lot. It was funny in that holy shit she is going to die kinda way. Hopefully she made it and so did everyone else.

Late Night TV

It's Friday and well I would like to say I'm ready for the weekend, but in reality it's been my weekend for the last two weeks. Watched some David Letterman last night and with or without writers he is hilarious. He should lose the beard though. Then I tried to hit the sack but nope didn't happen so I ended up seeing some of the most god awful TV yet.

Carson Daly...Really? They gave this guy a TV show and it's still on? He is the worst. He is dry and he shouldn't be back without writers because he is even worse. I would imagine that if he had writers he can pull off a 34 year old dude trying to be funny. Some of us just don't need writers. We are just funny no matter what. Anyway holy crap just plain awful and the only way you could laugh at this guy is because you feel so bad for him. Seriously no one is watching at this time of the morning anyway. I guess he is there to put you to sleep since that is pretty much what he did for me.

Then there is this Chelsea Lately biatch..and she has a show because she is f*cking the head dude at the E! channel. She sucks more than Carson Daly. I guess that's why she got the show... haha.. get it?! If this is the only talent you can find to put on at 1:30 or 2 a.m. just go off the air. I would rather see nothing than waste the air time with these two idiots.

Pretty Fu*ked Up

Here it is the third of January and I have nothing to do but kill time until classes begin on Monday Jan. 7th.

So I am thinking about the conversation with Blade and what my top 5 rock songs would be. I think it would have to go something like this:

5. Freebird - Lynryd Skynyrd (Heard it 50 billion times but it's an anthem I prefer Tuesday's Gone)
4. Highway Star - Deep Purple (this album is amazing and I like it better than Smoke on the Water)
3. L.A. Woman - The Doors (Just a killer tune)
2. Paint it Black - Rolling Stones (One of the best Stones tunes and just a dark tune)
1. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin (Not my favorite tune by them but it has everything)

Now I am sure Blade will have an opinion on my 5 and I will be sure to take it into consideration when he emails me, but I don't think you can argue with these songs. Blade and I used to have such great conversations about Rock n Roll...it's hard to find people to talk about music with like you could with him.

Now one of my favorite bands of today and a band that will never be in the top 5 great rock songs is the Supersuckers. If anything they will be in the top 5 greatest rock bands no one has heard of. You should check them out. They have a little bit of everything, country, blues, rock and come great covers. I always put them on my CD when I burn a new one. Happy Friggin New Year

Wow! It seems just like last year I was sitting in Raleigh after I got canned thinking about what the hell I was going to do next. Oh wait it was last year. How fast time flies.

First I'm going to recap my 2007 pretty quick. Started the year unemployed after classic rocker RDU went country. Moved to Phoenix in March to work at 93.3 KDKB and produced Alice Cooper's nightly radio show, Assistant Production Director, and pulled a third shift live show. That lasted for six months when I decided it was time to go back to school which lead me to Winter Park, FL, where I'm now going for my Bachelors Degree in Digital Arts and Design.

Now going into January 2008 as a straight "A" student for the first time in my life.

For my New Years I made the trip back to Raleigh, NC, and spent some time with my friends Sharen, Teke, and Blade. It has been fun to see everyone again.

So for New Years me and Sharen met up with Blade at Fox and the Hound and we sat around and laughed our asses off about radio, and just about the good times we had working at WRDU. It was quite amusing and Blade still gives me shit about picking "Fools" from Van Halen as their greatest song. Well I don't care it's f*cking awesome. Then of course we talked about our old intern Nick, and former PD's. Good times. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Probably since the last time we all got together.

Then it was time to just hang and wait for the clock to strike midnight. Sharen and I watched part of the Rolling Stones latest DVD and a Metallica DVD until about 11. Then we tried to find something to watch until midnight, but damn there was nothing. So we flipped back and forth from Dick Clark to Tila f'ing Tequila. Who decided that this chick needs to be on TV? She famous for being on myspace. Big deal. Is this what we have resorted to for entertainment...Myspace? I hope not, but we are getting to where TV and Music just blow. Wait music today does already blow.

Anyway that will be a post by itself. Enough of my rambling. I hope everyone enjoyed 2007 and is ready for a kick ass 2008! I know I sure am.

Home Again

Back in Florida. It was good to see the family, relatives I haven't seen in years, and friends. It was a tough four days though, not just because of the 4 TV channels, but it was freakin cold. There is a reason that I moved to LA, Phoenix, and now Winter Park and that is because it's WARM! I did manage to listen to KSHE-95 while I was home and they are rocking their ass off now. Why they didn't do that when I was growing up there I will never know. I would like to know who is to lazy to find talent at that station though. The other thing is they push this Guy Favazz for the afternoon ride home and well not only does he have a gigantic head I think he is an asshole. I firmly believe the only ones working there that have talent is the guy writing their promos and well U-man.

Now I'm home for a few days then will head off to Raleigh and see some friends for New Years. Hard to believe we are just days away from 2008.

Now that I am killing time here at home been watching some TV and I have to say how is it that Jenny Garafolo and Kathy Griffin ever had a career? I am extremely puzzled by these two. Neither are funny nor are they good looking. Thankfully Garafolo has fallen off the planet but Kathy Griffin has had some serious plastic surgery and has some awful stand up act on TV right now. Stephen Colbert is a funny S.O.B. That show just doesn't get old. Also last night I watched this show called Rad Girls. It's basically the female version of jackass, but with hot chicks. Watch the clip below where they act like sperm trying to fertilize an egg, and where they are XXX mimes on Hollywood Blvd.

Just damn good TV right there. There is even an episode where they play beer pong, but with hot sauce. Funny stuff.

Merry Christmas

It is day three because nothing exciting has happened since the first night when all the rookie drinkers puked.

With that being said yesterday before I headed to the airport I got a chance to catch the VH1 Rock Honors again with Heart, Ozzy, and ZZ Top. I must say Nickelback does any incredible job with Sharp Dressed Man. Watch it here:

Also who was in charge of letting Queers of the Stone Age.. I mean Queens of the Stone Age pay tribute to Ozzy. Of all the bands to pick from you pick a more alternative leaning band to do this instead of a hard rock band. I'm sure Vh1 really put their thinking caps on for that one. Plus what is there to say about Bam Margera or whatever the F**k his name is. Why do we let people like this idiot become famous? What does giving himself a black eye have to do with Ozzy? I will answer that for you. NOTHING.

Off to the airport and it's truly amazing that more kids are not lost or kidnapped at the airport. Not to mention the fact parents don't even discipline their kids. They just let them run around the airport like it's a playground. All of them screaming and just running loose. I think that's about reason 6,587 as to why I do NOT want kids. If your going to have them...then take care of them. More importantly in a situation like the airport don't expect me to feel sorry when you lost them.

Last nights flight I believe was the first time in history that I was not stuck next to a screaming kid. Now on to the best part of this blog.

I'm staying with my older brother in the booming mecca of Alton, IL. (Sarcasm mode on) He has a freaking $6000.00 sound system in his house with freakin' rabbit ears on his TV!! The sound system will blow you out of the city, but the 40 inch TV has I repeat...rabbit ears. Not to mention he has four remotes to work the 4 channels of TV. I guess it's one per channel.

Also the Internet connection is stolen from someone with an unsecured wireless connection. Makes for writing this blog a little difficult. Seriously it's great to be home and with my brother and parents on Christmas.

Winter Break

Then it was time to party. Me and another friend head down the street for some 99 cent draft beers. It was here we met a hot, dumb and racist bartender. Classic.

This was only the beginning. It was later in the evening I headed out for some drinks and food at the HoHut Mongolian Grill to meet the Paxtons as they came up from North Port to see their bro. After getting stuffed on the food and a few beers I was headed home when I got a phone call and I ended up at Toms place for a party.

I stopped and grabbed a six pack and went and had some more beers. I played some beer pong and won so me and my partner retired after one game. It was a little later when I had to take a leak, but couldn't because someone was puking in the bathroom. So that means it was wizzing outside. Now to make a long story short, later another person made it into the bathroom to puke as well. That was the last I saw of them...Until.... I was ready to leave and decided to peek into the bathroom and well both dudes passed out on the floor. I said Merry Christmas and heard a mumble from one of them I think wishing me the same thing or maybe he was telling me to screw off I don't know.

It's Been a While

It's been about a week since my last post, but really nothing has changed. I'm still doing school work which I will wrap up for Christmas break tomorrow. Been pretty busy this month with projects so it will be nice to get a break.

I also got all the Christmas cards out and if you didn't get one well that's because I don't have your address. For those not on the list I will post the card on the blog in sometime next week. I don't want to spoil it for those who get jacked by the postal service and get them late. I would also like to thank Sharen for being in the card this year.

Last week got a great e-mail from a friend with what has to be the best commercial to never air anywhere. Let's watch.

If I ever start smoking I will be sure to buy those cigars. After all they are rolled with love.

Random Notes

So after a crap week of Nip Tuck last night's episode was classy. Christian was back with his classic lines such was "What makes you think I want to put my dick in that cesspool you call a vagina." Of course there was the opening scene with the new hotty on the show AnnaLynne McCord. Oh yea Kimber got back in porn. Good Shit.

Yesterday I also decided to join a gym...AGAIN! I at least use it when I do join. Besides it's good motivation when there is money on the line.

Well the Christmas cards are just about ready to go out. I have 2 cards I can use this year which is always a good thing. I am now just coming up with the caption. Everyone should get theirs next week.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Not much happening so I will just start off with a hot chick.

Went out drinking Saturday night, but I still haven't recovered from the Insomnia class project so it was an early night. Sunday I just woke up and laid around for the first few hours then it was time to get some motivation and do the laundry that has been piling up for about a week. I think pretty much everything is clean now. Even all my damn dishes.

After that was over it was time to catch up on TV shows. Nip Tuck was probably one of the dumber episodes this season. It was due for a bad episode. Then caught up on Law and Order and that show is kicking some ass on USA this season. It is still funny to see Vincent Denofrio in that show after seeing him so young in Full Metal Jacket.

After writing this did I even really need to post this? I did want to share this killer clip of Aerosmith performing "Big Ten Inch". This song is one of my favorites by them. It's a pretty recent clip, but you can't beat old drugged out Aerosmith songs. Enjoy.

The Insomnia Movie Project

It has been a busy few days. I had a group project for class. The Insomnia Movie Project was the work. We got into our groups of four or five people, started at 9am Friday morning and was due by 9am Saturday. Our groups had to shoot, edit and score a 3 minute video within 24 hours, plus we had to put in at least three required things from the teacher. We ended up using a dutch angle, a character of Pee Wee McGee and Egg Nog. I know it sounds easy but when it was all said and done it our group about 20 hours.

We came up with the idea of the Beer Pong Institute, and your truly was Pee Wee McGee, founder of BPI. The video will be posted in the next few days.

Hot for Teacher

I have added a top 5 list on the blog, just to let you know what I'm listening currently listening to. It's not in any particular order...just what is getting cranked in the truck.

So the teacher who was having sex with her student a few years back Debra Lafave was busted again yesterday on a probation violation. Not sure what it was, but it wasn't having sex again. I gotta tell ya, if I had teachers that looked like that when I was in school I would have stayed extra went early what ever. I am still trying to figure out who in the hell is ratting these women out? Must be a jealous friend. I know if my teacher was that hot I would be telling all my friends. I can't ever remember having a teacher who I would want to see in a swimsuit let alone want to have sex with.

Again I never had a teacher that looked anywhere close to that.

I am not sure what will be on the Christmas card, but I promise you it will be another goody. The pressure gets more and more every year. I should have stopped years ago with the naked chick, but I didn't. Lesson learned. This year will be good, but this is where I have to get creative since my good friend Sharen isn't in the pic. The creative cap is on. Get ready.

It's Been A While

I would say I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but I would be lying. Honestly I have just been busy with school work. Not much been happening. I must say it's a good thing I didn't go away to college years ago. If I did I am pretty sure I would never have made it thru. I would have just drank my ass off like we do now, but now I'm more responsible? Maybe? Yea.. Let's go with that.

The two new classes for this month are cool so far. I have some cool teachers. Our project going into the weekend is going to be to film a short movie. This will happen Friday at 9 a.m. The class will find out three elements that must be included in their video and begin. The project is due 9 a.m. Saturday morning. It's our insomnia film festival.

This week I will also post up my logo for BryMerica. I finally made a logo for my damn company. You would think that after 4 years I would have a logo, but nope you would be wrong.

It's also hard thinking it's anywhere near Christmas when you live down here. It's still 80 outside. Even living in California it st least got chilly. Also now as I get into December it's time to get the annual Christmas card made and sent to everyone. I don't know who will be in it this year, but it's amazing how every year people start emailing and asking what I'm going to do for the card. I at least try to entertain with mine, and yet I still get the normal card from everyone else. Oh well. I guess I will never grow up.

From the Dukes to Porn

Back to reality after a nice break. I even back working out again after a month or so off. It's really amazing how out of shape you can get when you stop your routine even after a week let alone a month.

I watched a lot of freakin' TV tonight. I caught up on a bunch of shows from last week. To round out the evening I watched Nip / Tuck. Now that the show is kicking ass again once it becomes 10pm there is no disturbing me for that hour. No phone calls or anything, everyone is on ignore. Tuesdays episode brought back John Schneider to the small screen. Most of us know him from the popular role of Bo Duke on the Dukes of Hazzard. Well in this episode Bo Duke (cuz that's how I know him) plays a porn director / owner of a porn company called PENETRATE. Classy I know. Kimber was trying to get back in porn to score more cash for meth. Bo walks in the room and starts talking with her about Kimber's best movie called "Plumbers and Dykes". Again another classic name. Needless to say. Great show.

Tuesday was also the beginning of one of my new classes. Now it's going to get interesting. Designing Computer Graphics is the class on Tues, Thur, and Sat. The other course for this month is Networks and Operating Systems. It's going to be awesome.

I've got nothing else so how about a pic of a hot chick? Sounds good.

Someone Heard the Cry

WHEW!! That's really all that needs to be said at this point. Technical and weather issues kept us from going out on the canal last night. We decided it was time to shoot another edition of the Heroin Diaries, and man we ended up with a lot of footage. Not to mention we got really really drunk while filming.

I will be editing the video once I get it in hand. I promise you it's more amusing than the first.

Before I leave for today, I really want to say thank you to the entire Paxton family for letting me come down and spend Thanksgiving with them. The food was incredible. You guys are kick ass.

We were initially going to go and do some shark fishing, but the weather is just not quite right. I have now been volunteered to go back on the gator infested canal to film for the Paxton's. This means if you don't see a post by Monday morning at the latest call the police. I already warned them that we have eaten to much to all go out in the canoe, but that excuse didn't work.

At least this time they said they wouldn't rock the canoe....AS MUCH! The vibe of fear again has been put in place. To top it off we are going out at night! This is crazy. The longer I wait the more I think I should just haul ass in the middle of the night. Seriously you might think I'm a puss...well your right...especially when it comes to alligators. I mean come on these animals can swim faster than you can even think about, rip your arm off, and then put you in the death roll before you can blink. I think it's pretty f'n normal to be a little freaked out. I think if your not like Sean and Brooks then your f'n crazy. They tell me this will all pay off. I'm not quite sure how, but you only live once. I just don't want it to end violently by a gator. I have been assured by Brooks that if I do get injured by the gator they will hunt it down and kill it. (yea thanks)

Oh yea even freaked out holding that little one.

I told them I was going to school to stay in the nice confines of a studio, not to be out in nature...but nope that didn't work either. You know as great of friends as they are these are the times I really hate them. It could be worse I guess. They did throw a gator in bed with some friends of ours in the middle of the night (the mouth was taped). It's different when the gator is out of its element, but yea still freaked out holding it and that was almost three years ago.

The Vibe of Fear

No one does it like the Paxton's, when it comes to freaking you out. As you know I headed to good ol' North Port for the Turkey holiday and well after getting thru the traffic nightmare I arrived on Wednesday.

They decide that we are going to go for a canoe ride in the canal behind their homes. Now if you have never seen a canal in Florida...well the easiest way to put it is.. that's where the alligators are. Before I continue I will tell you I had no idea what Brooks meant by a sunset cruise on the salt water canal. They have caught a few gators in the canal just for fun and of course put them back, but taking a canoe ride on this canal is just a bit freaky. Now you really have to know the guys but they are not afraid to fuck with you even when your out in the canal. The canoe's weight capacity is about 400lbs and with the 3 of us in there I am sure we easily passed that weight, which put us about 4 inches from the canal water. Yea... the vibe of fear was in me, no doubt. I don't know about you but I really do not want to die in an alligator attack! Just F.Y.I. Sean says the good thing about tipping a canoe in a canal is that you don't have very far to swim through gator infested waters to get to dry land.

Great way to start of my Thanksgiving holiday. Well we cruised around on the canoe throughout the canal and they also explained where they could hide the bodies without any trace. So at any rate we are cruising around and they decide to rock the damn canoe, and well that will freak you out! Holy sh*t, that was close enough for me. At least when my jeans got wet it covered up the piss that was running down my leg. Watch the video of the ride...

For the most part I feel pretty safe when venturing out with these guys, but they certainly know how to put the vibe of fear in you. Then of course after you get freaked out in the slightest it just becomes good natured ribbing the rest of the trip.

Finally a Break

Monday we took our last exam for Art History. Seemed to go pretty well. I feel pretty good about it. Today I turned in my last paper for English class. When we come back from Thanksgiving break I will be taking Networking and Operating Systems and Designing Computer Graphics. Now it's going to get good.

Now to the past weekend. We had class on Saturday so Friday just took it easy. I definitely made up for it on Saturday though. Sat down and began playing Hi / Low and well I was getting my ass kicked in that. I ended up downing about 3 beers in like 15 minutes. A nice way to start off the evening. Kind of. Then it was on to beer pong. I did ok with that, but still lost...Several times. Needless to say I got pretty hammered. Sunday sucked. Felt like crap for the early part of the day. Damn it was fun though. Welcome to College!

Also, on Sunday I decided I would head over to the new IKEA here in Orlando. Big mistake. I was better off walking there. The store has only been open a week, but you would have thought they were giving away furniture. And People with their kids. Geez. Parents keep your kids in check. I swear I am sure at the end of the day there is at least 50 kids lost and there parents just left them there. More than likely on purpose. I certainly would have if my kid acted like some of these little bastards. I did end up with a coffee table, and only 30 bucks. Perfect.

So heading down to see my second family the Paxtons for Turkey Day. I think we are even going to venture out and do some shark fishing on Saturday. Hell Yes! The last time I went with them I didn't catch shit. The first time though caught a 4 foot Black Tip shark and it was mighty tasty. I have had to mentally prepare for all the booze that is about to be induced over the next few days. It will certainly make an exciting new episode of the Heroin Diaries.

We Have All Watched His Head Grow

Yes ladies and gentlemen...it's Friday. The first month of classes are winding down and we will begin two new classes after Thanksgiving. 20 months to go.

I'm sure there will be some more cold ones tonight, but we have our last full English class tomorrow. Yes on a Saturday.

I was shocked to hear last night Barry Bonds was indicted. (Sarcasm mode on) Who knew? I heard this morning that he could face up to thirty years in jail. If he spent 30 minutes in jail I would fall over, but seriously if he didn't take steroids then I should be elected president. I cracked up this morning when the news reporter actually said "We have all watched his head grow". Damn that was funny. Bonds did say that if they put an asterisk on his baseball in the Hall of Fame he wouldn't go..I say Good F'ing Riddance.

Did some more drinking last night...Oh what I missed on the college life at 20. Played more Hi-Low and man that game is just great to play to get drunk quick. It was also interesting debating with some of the younger peeps just to see what their point of view is.

The Infamous Bike Ride

First let me say that if your not watching Nip / Tuck you don't know what your missing. The show is kicking ass even though Tuesday night Kimber, (Kelly Carlson) made her first appearance...to bad it's going to get ruined by the writers strike.

On to school...Our first assignment in English Composition was to write a memoir. It was not to be a life story like a typical memoir, it was just something that had happened to us in our life. Now there are plenty of stories that I could share at this point, but I decided I would write about a bike ride I took after moving to Manhattan Beach, CA in 1999. It's worth the read, I promise.

I had only been living in Southern California about a week when I decided I would check out the lay of the land with a nice bike ride. I decided to ride from my new home in Manhattan Beach down to Redondo Beach, which is about four miles. What I didn’t realize was this would be the costliest ride of my life.

Riding along the strand was something I had seen a number of people do, and I thought this would be a great way to take in the sights and get to know the beach area around me. I grabbed my headphones, cranked some tunes, jumped on my bike, and headed out on my way. It was about 6 p.m. on a Wednesday in April. The ride started off like any other, I had Led Zeppelin cranked on the Walkman and I was just cruising along for a few miles. I got to the end of Hermosa Beach and thought it would be nice to continue to Redondo Beach. I didn’t realize this would end up being the costly move.

As I began to ride on to Redondo Beach, I got off of the strand and ended up on the street in the bike lane. Before I knew it, I was at a three way stop light. I stopped at the red light and continued on my ride, even though the light was still red. I was about fifty feet past the light when I heard police sirens. I looked back to see what was happening and realized they were for me. Since I was not from California I didn’t know I’d just broken the law. I thought, what could I have possibly done? It soon became a good cop bad cop situation. As the officers walked up to me from their car they spoke the funniest words I have ever heard “Can you step off the bike please?” I laughed not thinking they were serious, but they were. As I got off of my bike I could see the gym rats at Gold’s Gym across the street thinking they were witnessing an episode of “Cops”. I asked “What did I do?” One officer replied “You just ran a red light.” I had no idea this was against the law on a bicycle. Then the questioning began. Where was I from? Where I was I going? Did I have any drugs or guns? I couldn’t believe what was happening. The officers did not believe that I was just out for a bike ride on the beach, and they certainly did not believe that this long haired dude did not have any drugs or guns. After frisking me, the good cop asked me where I was from and how I liked it in Southern California, meanwhile the bad cop was running all my information to make sure they didn’t just catch a fugitive. He walked back up to my bike and I could see he was writing me a ticket. I couldn’t believe this was happening. I thought I was on an episode of “Punked”. The officer handed me the ticket and sent me on my way. That was the end of that ride. I immediately turned around and went back home. I never did make it to Redondo Beach that day since I was so mad the ride home was a quick one.

About ten days later, it was another sunny Saturday afternoon, and I thought it would be a great idea to venture out on another ride. Again I grabbed my headphones and took off. I decided to do the same route as before since I didn’t get to complete the ride the last time. This time I made sure I followed every sign correctly, and I made it to Redondo Beach. It was the way back, where I ran into trouble.

I was about to get on the bike path again, but as I rode down the street I saw a police car make a u-turn, head straight toward me and block me in the bike path. I immediately started laughing. The officer asked “What is so funny?” I replied “Are you going to give me a ticket?” He answered with a “Yes”. As you can imagine I was in shock. Of all the people bicycling on a Saturday afternoon I was the one getting another ticket. I asked “What did I do this time?” the officer said I was going the wrong way in the bike lane. I was going northbound in the southbound lane to be exact. I explained for a second time that I was new to the city and didn’t know there was another bike lane. He didn’t care and wrote me my second bicycle ticket in less than two weeks. It was another quick ride home. I was mad as hell.

Fast forward, about two months, and I realized that I had not paid the fines. After calling the courthouse I was told that I needed to appear in court since there was a warrant for my arrest on my unpaid bicycle tickets. I freaked out. I had no idea I was a wanted man. After being reassured I would not be arrested if I made it to court in the next few days, I was there the next morning. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. I had to plead my case in front of a full courthouse over a couple bicycle tickets. I said my piece regarding the tickets. I told the court about my situation of just moving to California. I told the judge I was not avoiding paying the tickets. I let him know that I was unemployed and I was doing everything I could to make ends meet. The judge looked at me almost as if he thought I was lying and asked in an uncaring tone if I was finished. I could tell from that voice I was in serious trouble. He let me know that based on my failure to appear in court and the failed attempts to file an extension to pay the fines, that I would pay everything that day in full. The total was $650.00. The Judge slammed the gavel and I walked out of the courtroom with my head hung low. As I went to pay the fine, I told the clerk not to cash the check that day or else the check would bounce higher than a rubber ball. She laughed and told me not to worry it would be a few days.

It was expensive living in Southern California for six years. It was two years before I took another bike ride, but I made sure that after that experience I always followed the laws of bike riding. As one of the officers kindly reminded me, ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

I still am amazed it happened to me, but I at least can look back now and kind of laugh. My teacher loved it. She said, "Incredible story, you won't have to worry about that happening in Central Florida." By the way I have to add... 100% on that paper...Can I get a Hell Yea!?

How About a Game of Hi / Low?

Test is over and it was time to start drinking. Well for my fellow classmates it was anyway. I ended up eating to much food and a few beers and called it a night on Friday. Saturday however was a different story. I met up with friends from school and we decided to go and pick up some beer and have a little shin dig. We started drinking and the one thing about drinking with the youngsters again is they love to play drinking games. Now does that bring back some memories...I was sitting at the table and one of the guys says Bryan...You in for some Hi - Low? I said sure why the hell not. The one about that game is you can slam beers pretty damn fast. I hung in for a few rounds and wow..it's still fun.

I just finished up watching the Indy / San Diego game and well I can say is I'm in total disbelief that the Colts lost. I can't imagine how you can miss a 29 yard field goal. Any way not that I care but I just wanted to see the Colts win.

Well today I actually have to head to Art History. I don't know if we will get back the results of our test or not. I think I did OK. I also have to finish my English paper. I still can't figure out a conclusion. I have never been able to write an ending to a paper. It is the worst part of writing for me.

Ok I'm off to class.. See what I mean? Just horrible.

Test Today...Memories of KSHE-95

Classes are rolling right along today is our first test in Art History. It should be interesting. It has been so long since I have taken a test. It's always even more nerve wrecking when you only have 2 tests for the month. The mid term and the final.

The other night I was surfing the web and decided to visit the radio station of KSHE-95. This was the station I grew up listening to and help to shape the music I listen to today. KSHE-95 Real Rock Radio is truly legendary. It's 40 years old and I believe is the oldest FM rock station in the country. KSHE has built a Real Rock Museum on the website. It really brought back memories of growing up in St. Louis. I wasn't at the station, I never even visited the station, but just looking through the pictures and watching the old TV commercials really hit home. I also loved seeing all the stations old bumper stickers. Sweet Meat the KSHE hog was in almost all of them. It was hilarious. Always putting him with bands or even what was popular culture at the time. I actually remember having a t-shirt that was Beavis and Butt Meat with the KSHE hog dressed up to look like Butthead from the famous cartoon Beavis and Butthead.

It was awesome. By the way Sweet Meat originally had a joint in his mouth not a cigarette...The pig mascot was basically a direct rip off of the Blodwyn Pig album cover.(Thanks Todd)The other thing about the site was it really showcased how radio USED to be. I stress how it USED to be. Bands coming by and shaking hands doing the interviews and really trying to promote themselves and their music. Everyone thinks that we all go in and do our 4, 5, or 6 hour shift and then head home. NOT the case. There really is more work in to your show and behind the scenes than you might think.

At any rate check out this museum...It really is incredible. I did have to laugh when I saw a friend in a photo and we joked about how was thinner then, but he still had the autographed book. The only complaint I have is that I at times I wondered was this about KSHE or about this DJ named Favazz...Who I happen to think is a prick, but that is another story. Let's just say I wish Zakk Wylde would have beat him senseless. You can even hear that audio on the site.

Classic photos of the U-man, John Ulett, the guy has been with the station forever...probably 37 or 38 years. I'm not sure but he's a lucky dude. It's like my buddy Blade...When you think of WRDU you think of him. Well it's the same thing with U-man and KSHE.

The DMV, School and Playboy...What a Combo

It was an interesting weekend. I hung out with some of the guys from school. Always cool meeting new people when you move to a new city. I hung out with them and had some cold ones discussed our classes and we all pretty much feel the same way. Weird that we all are thinking on the same line even though we are from different backgrounds and ages. We dig English Comp.

I spent the first four hours of my day at the DMV. Man did that suck. It went better than my experience in Raleigh. It was there where they made me take a written drivers test and well I managed to fail the first time. Aced it the second time as you would expect. Here it was a completely different story. Went down to the first location and got the new FLA tags. A pain in the ass as it was the third time I had to go due to having to get titles etc..from Ford. Got the plates today then had to head to a different location and get the actual license. Now that's all done and I'm legal. I hate the DMV as much as the next guy, but when you have moved as much as I have you just kind of get used to sitting there patiently.

Over the weekend I managed to catch an episode of the "Girls Next Door". You know that horrible reality show that follows Hef and his three girlfriends around. This is one of those shows that is so bad you can't turn it off simply because the girls are well...Playboy models. There are many things that are just wrong with this program and the biggest for me is actually seeing Hef tongue kiss these models. Oh man! It's just f**kin wrong. Who wouldn't want to be Hef?

I mean just look at that pic again. This episode took Hef and his THREE girlfriends to Paris. One of them didn't know what a bidet was. She called it a binet. What the hell?? A Binet? Really? Where do you meet girls this stupid? In all of my travels I never met one this stupid. It simply blows my mind. Then they couldn't figure out how to use it. Now that was just plain HI-Larious.

I did a little Art History today and I can honestly say I am not sure what to think of this class yet. Got out of class a little early so came home and hit the books. I had homework to do. Man that still sounds crazy.

I managed to catch a marathon of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders TV show. I am not sure who decided to make this a reality show, but they should be thanked. There is nothing better than seeing a bunch of chicks running around in nothing but tiny shorts and tank tops. It's great!! The camera guys have the best job. Every other shot is a closeup of the girls ass or boobs. Have I mentioned this show is GREAT!

The trainer for the cheerleaders he is built like a freakin' tank. He makes these girls do the most ridiculous exercises. I swear no one would ever make this dude bend over and put hands on some thing with wheels and push it around a track. He would kick their ass. That doesn't stop him from making the girls do it though. This is just great TV. Am I shallow? Yep. As the saying goes...I may not know much about art, but I know what I like. I may hate the team, but lets face it their cheerleaders are smokin'...I mean the best.

I also need to pick up the new book from Slash. I knew he could write a song, but didn't know he could write a book. This has to be an easy read. School has begun

The first day of class is over. What a relief. Yesterday was English Composition. I knew that in 8 hours we would be writing something and I was right. I never thought I would say this but this class is going to be cool. Of course double check with me in 30 days and we will see if I still think that or not. Today we began writing our first assignment which is our memoir. We have to write about one thing that has happened to us in our life. Well it was hard for me to choose as I had it down to 3 topics and finally settled on getting two bicycle tickets within 14 days when I lived in Cali. For those who don't know the story you soon will. Those that do know it well you will get to read about it again.

Today is Art History. I think this class could be pretty cool. I will soon find out.
Last night was also the season premier of Nip Tuck. I only decided to watch this because I wanted to find out if it would get back to being a cool show since last season just plain sucked the big one. I was very leary going into tonights show but I figured I would see what the premier was like since they are now located in L.A. I was not disappointed. Things were back like they should be. Great lines in the show once again "Like selling semen at a whore house" just classic lines spoken from Dr. Christian Troy. Judging by the previews it looks like it's going to be a good season. Again we will see.

Just Mindless Ramblings for the Weekend

This weekend wasn't to interesting...I basically just hung out getting the computer up to speed for class on Tuesday. I talked to a few friends in California and found out luckily none of them were affected by the fires.

As I was flipping thru the channels I saw Saturday Night Live and man that show has not been funny in over a decade at least. I think they are definitely grasping at straws now as I saw Chevy Chase doing a segment on the news. Even that is not going to help. He was having a hell of a time reading the cue cards and the glasses he had on it was surprising he could read as good as he was. The damn things just kept sliding down his nose. I can't believe these writers sit around during the week and think some of this stuff is funny. I am also shocked that NBC hasn't just cancelled this show. Out of all the shows that are out there are they telling us that there is nothing better than this tired show? I think not.

I watched some football today, and I hate the Bucs yet since they are local I get stuck watching them. The Patriots won of course no surprise there and I have to say the Colts have to beat them in a couple weeks. I hate the Patriots. While I am on football why does everyone hate the Bills? So they lost 4 Superbowls. You should at least give them props since they are the only TRUE New York team. The Giants and the Jets both play in New Jersey...Sooooooo? Why are they not the NJ Jets and NJ Giants? Plus is it necessary to play the NFL in London? No! Let them have soccer. I do not even want to watch a game of football that is not here in the good ol' USA!

Also watched that show Ice Road Truckers and those guys are just crazy. Driving 300 miles on a lake that has frozen over! The ice is about 40 inches thick. That money is really not worth it.

Man after writing this I realized I watched way to much TV this weekend.
