I finally got my computer back. I lost all my info on my hard drive though. SUCKS! I am trying to find someone who can basically rebuild the damn thing and get the info off for me.. So if you know someone please feel free to email me roadie@kdkb.com
You would be a life saver!
I don't know if I will ever take it back to the major retail chain though. If I have to I might just buy another one instead of going through that crap again.
I now have to reload all my programs which sucks but at least I have the computer back.
I will catch everyone next week.

Damn Computers
Greetings Hellions,
So here it is a week after my computer took a crap and I still do not have the damn thing back. Talk about feeling completely out of touch with the world. I only have access to a computer when I come in for my shift and damn it sucks. I never realized how much I used it until it was gone.
I have to say this has been the biggest pain in the ass I have had to deal with in a long time. First of all if you buy a Sony computer make sure you do the back up immediately. Who is the brainchild that decided we shouldn't get a recovery disc with our systems anymore? I mean it costs what a measely couple bucks for them to drop them in the box? Not to mention the customer service I have received from this major retail chain has been pretty sh*tty except from one dude. I will call him Ryan. Thanks dude.
I love how they can't recover any of my hard drive unless I have it sent out to their main office and spend a minimum of $250. Here is the kicker they can definitely get my info back, but I don't have the option of saying F it if I think the price is to much..What is going on these days? Since when is the customer not right? Not to mention that they initially wanted me to BUY back my dead hard drive. I think not.
Now I am praying for the best here and that our friends at PC Perfect can get some of my info for me. They will be nothing less than a god if they can recover the 4 or 5 folders of stuff I need.
Yes I should have had a back up of these folders and I thought I did, but for the life of me I can't figure out why I never did. I am still kicking myself for that.
Hopefully I will have some great news on Tuesday afternoon from PC Perfect. Meanwhile I certainly hope the dude who waited on me yesterday at the retail chain isn't working. I must say he was quite the A-Hole. I never knew it took more than 8 hours to put a new operating system on my laptop. Damn computers.

Monday's Suck
What's happening Hellions?
Got to catch up with my friend Blade from NC this weekend. Always good catching up with him and hearing about his gig in Eastern NC. It's pretty low key there and a few rednecks. Not like the crazy 3rd shifters here.
I try and get everything done on Friday's or Saturday's. So that way come Sunday I can get up and go straight to the couch. Did some beer drinking on Friday and Saturday so just kicked back on Sunday.
Of course the great thing about Sunday night is TV. Gene Simmons and now Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. This show just kills me. These broads want this dude so bad and they actually think that it will last even if they do win. Remember so far none have these relationship shows have actualyl worked out yet. The good thing about this show is that these chicks just want to drink, get naked and kiss each other. It's awesome. There are definitely some nasty chicks and I don't mean nasty in the good way. This episode the challenge was for the girls to have phone sex with Bret. Am I really supposed to believe that he is having phone sex on the road? I'm just not buying it. There is no way in hell that this is happening. It was still hilarious to watch though.
Also I tuned in to watch Rock Star Wives and all I am going to say is what the hell is up with Vince Neil's wife? She is just scary looking. You can't stop looking at her lips. Evidently she worked for a plastic surgeon...well she should be taking his ass to court for that f'd up lip job.
The Jam Session was low key tonight. I swear I think everyone took a huge hit from the bong or something. Everyone was just super mellow. That has only happened a couple times since I have been here. I did manage to play "Crazy Bitch" from Buckcherry in Last Call and had to crank it up. Just one of those tunes I hadn't heard in a while.
Later Home F*cks...I still have no idea what a home f*ck is..but I like it.

Guns N Roses and the Weekend is Here
Thursday was pretty uneventful although I had a friend from St. Louis send me links to the youtube posting from 1991 and the infamous Guns n Roses riot. I look back and think...I was there...
I will never forget this show. It was also the FIRST of many riots to come by Axl Rose and his band mates. When we were at the show we didn't realize how crazy and dangerous the scene really was. As I look back watching the video footage I think...holy sh*t. What a crazy scene. Watch it for yourself. Some of the footage is hard to see because of the black and white film but you will get the idea of how insane it was and the destruction left behind.
Axl Jumps..The Beginning
The Riot Begins
Pure Destruction
The Aftermath
I remember coming home and my family was freaking out. After watching the footage I can see why. I do remember the next day going to work and half of my co-workers were surprised that I had made it in since they saw the footage on the national news. Up to that point of the show it was awesome. This is one of the reasons why I think Axl is a great front man...not because he can start a riot but because you just never know what that dude is going to do. There might be a show..there might not...he might even just give you a speech
Axl Speech
there might be a riot...it might be a great concert..he might just freak out and rip someone a new ass like in this clip
Pissed
You just never know. The unpredictability is ridiculous. I would like to know what a home f*ck is though. I think I might have to start using that one.
On to the All Night Jam Session... Starting off as always with Mandatory Metallica..."Devil's Dance", "Until It Sleeps", and "Ronnie". Plus it was a great night of entertainment from some crazy lady who called in to scream at me for not going to Vietnam. Is it my fault I wasn't born? Not only that she also told me she breast fed Bigfoot, and was the mother, sister, and niece of Catherine Zeta Jones..Yep she was all three and spoke 6 different languages. I'm telling you this woman was nuts but the most entertaining call I think I have ever taken.
Last Call was incredible for a Friday. Van Halen's "Black N Blue", AC/DC "Soul Stripper", the perfect weekend song "Dirty Little Mind" from Jackyl. She also proved it.. Whoa.. Ended with "The Four Horsemen".
A kick ass night of rock...home f*cks...
Enjoy the weekend!

More Reality TV
I have been thinking about this the last couple of days and I must say DAMN! First of all I watch way to much TV..let me repeat that.. Reality TV.
The best is Gene Simmons' Family Jewels. I just saw the Bret Michaels show on Sunday and if your telling me that Bret Michaels can't find a girlfriend then he has a serious F'ing problem. I mean if Gene Simmons can get laid and he is an ugly dude... Then Bret must be an idiot. That is the one thing that is just annoying about this show. This guy can get laid on a nightly basis and your telling me he is looking for a girlfriend to settle down with? PA-LEEEZ! I do laugh at the fact that one of the rules of the house is that you can't walk into his room without knocking. I can only think that is because he doesn't want the chicks to see his fake hair or maybe he is balding on top? It has to be one of those. Why else would he 2 cap it? You know with the bandanna and the cowboy hat. I will watch it though for the hotties though..Heather and Jes..WOW!
You can watch the trailer for the show below:

Reality TV
I know everyone has been waiting so patiently and maybe even wondering where I have been.... YEA.. RIIIIIIGHT! All 5 of you.
I will just say dealing with the DMV sucks, and last night my damn computer crashed. Now the Geek squad has it... I certainly hope they can salvage some of my files. I would hate to lose some of that stuff.. Most of my files and music were all on my external hard drive. Just a note if you haven't backed up your stuff do so today. I am certainly wishing I had done that.
You don't realize how much you use your computer until it's gone. I feel completely disconnected from the world.
OK on to more important B.S.
I have realized I have crossed the line of reality TV. Not only am I watching Big Brother, but now I am watching Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and Scott Baio's show.
Holy crap there are some dumb broads on Rock of Love. There are definitely some hot chicks there too. I will say great move on Brett's part to keep Poison in the minds of everyone all summer. My favorites so far is Heather (pictured above) and the other one is Jes...she looks awesome with the Pink hair.
The night F***in' Rocked.

This woman below..there is something about her that says ROCK N F'N ROLL!

Now the Scott Baio reality show. Let me put it this way. I would like to shake that guys hand..or maybe not.. This dude has been with more women that I ever imagined. He even got them before they were used and abused by everyone else. Example (Pam Anderson). He has also had numerous Playboy Playmates and Models. So I say way to go.
Tonight was kick ass for Last Call as we had quite a few requests come in for tunes that hadn't been played in a long ass time. Marcy Playground's "Sex and Candy" and even Corrosion of Conformity's "Clean My Wounds".The night F***in' Rocked.

Well.....
The reason for no posting this week is simple... I was just lazy. I think I just slept the week away. Why? I love to sleep as mentioned in a previous post.
I won't be as lazy next week.
Enjoy your 4 play weekend! Almost time for some cold ones..

It certainly was an interesting weekend. Live Earth was broadcast on KDKB from 9a.m. to 5p.m. on Saturday and I can tell you first hand that we had the best broadcast in the country on this concert. Since we were running it differently than any other. It was crazy that we would be sitting in the studio with minutes left on a segment and not know what was going to come up next. It got your adrenaline going that's for sure. I LOVE live radio. Screw ups, phone calls, interacting with the listeners, there is nothing else like it.
My favorite part of Live Earth was the reunion of Spinal Tap. Their performance of Big Bottom was awesome. Click here to watch.
Metallica was also very good and it sounded like James voice was in good shape again. There were times over the last few years where he just didn't sound like the old James. They were scheduled to do 4 songs but ended up with only 3. You can download that show and many others at livemetallica.com
The rest of the weekend was pretty mellow and low key. Sunday was a little crazy since I was on in the afternoon, and had to come back at midnight. Now I will admit I am hooked on the show Big Brother on CBS. I would never be watching these shows but now I am home during these times since I have to go and work at 12a.m. There are a few hotties on the show which certainly helps.
The shift tonight was great. Listeners were calling in all night. The Jam Session flew by. Great requests including one from Alvin Lee. Dug up the tune "Wake Up Moma". Damn it sounded good!
When we say Everything that Rocks... We mean it. Who else is playing Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" at 4 a.m.? Only us.
Have a great Monday.

FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAY!
I am glad it's the weekend. It made no difference to me that the 4th was in the middle of the week. I still worked, so it was just another day for me. Hell on the 4th I slept through the entire day. It was hotter than hell here. It was like 114 or something. Dry heat or not you shouldn't even leave the house. Just stay in the A/C. Of course that also explains why I am pasty white. Almost transparent as it has been put to me.
The weekend is now here and I'm ready for the cold ones to flow. The Friday edition of the All Night Jam Session rocked more than normal I think. Just had some great tunes for the morning. Mandatory Metallica was "The Prince", "Wherever I May Roam" and "Ride the Lightning". Metallica is also one of the bands playing Live Earth this weekend.
Had a ton of calls tonight for Metallica. They are another band that I can't seem to play enough of. Along with Sabbath and Dio. Also cranked up AC/DC "Big Gun" which was awesome to hear.
Last Call had a few different tunes for the weekend. Things really got rollin' when "Symphony of Destruction" was blasting here in the studio. The Bulletboys "Smooth Up In Ya" was also thrown out there for everyones enjoyment. For some reason a few guys thought the woman who requested it was doing a little pole dancing. Not sure why not one of my strip club songs. I will have to post that list. (strip club songs - songs I didn't like as much until girls danced naked to them) Ended up mellowing things out with Gary Moore's "Still Got the Blues".
The morning went by pretty quick. It's time for a little nap and the cold Budwesier's to flow around 4p.m.
Have a great weekend.

4th of July
Nothing like getting the 4th started a little early on the 3rd. Headed over to Islands with the staff for a few cold ones, which is a great way to get the All Night Jam Session rollin'.
Never quite sure how the holidays will be since there is a lot of traveling and people off, but once again the phones were jammed with requests.
Mandatory Metallica got things started. I believe that also got the partiers going as well. Some crazies calling in and I love it. The past few nights the grocery store people have checked in but yet there aren't trashing each other any more. I try and egg it on but no dice. They say they are trying to behave I am not sure I believe that. Last Call as always blows me away with the requests. Tonight it was Alice in Chains "Would", Dio "Holy Diver", and Maiden's "Wasted Years", that tune always gets people going. The best call of the night though came in from the fire department who had to hear the Talking Heads "Burning Down the House" of course I was a little slow on that one, but pretty damn funny. Just think about it. Firemen..Burning Down the House..
Had to pull an extra long shift tonight and filled in for J.R. and Marci as they had a vacation day. No sweat I will do it.. Can't pass up doing morning drive in any fashion. Certainly will make for a long ass day.
Enjoy the 4 play for your 4th of July. I must say that my favorite 4 play of the morning was Zeppelin with "How Many More Times", "Rock N Roll", "Stairway to Heaven" and "Dancing Days" now that is a kick ass block of rock! Another one that kept me going this morning was AC/DC and "Highway to Hell", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Have a Drink On Me" and "Sin City" I would have preferred to do 4 from Bon Scott, but I know there are Brian Johnson fans as well. I just prefer Bon.. there is just something about him as front man that you just think that is a rock icon.
Have a great 4th.

Blue Oyster Cult / Steppenwolf / Bday Con't
So got the hell out of the station this morning only to have to get up and go right back in for a meeting. Everyone around the station said Happy Birthday and gave me a card making fun of my BINGO expedition with Ruby. Damn.. I go drink for free and win and I get shit?? What the hell is that all about? Oh well I don't care it was fun and did I mention I drank for free? It's really about the important things people.
It was then off to the Gila River Casino to see Blue Oyster Cult and Steppenwolf.
First let me tell you do NOT use Google.com for directions to that place. If I would have used them I would have ended up driving completely around Phoenix to go about 10 minutes. I was thinking I knew the casino was only a few minutes from the apt. and I went with my gut instead of following Google and I was RIGHT! Shocking I know.
Fast Fwd... I figured I had to see these bands in concert. They are Classic Rock staples. I am glad I did even though I wish I could have seen them in their heyday.
BOC rocked the house and with Rudy Sarzo from Quiet Riot / Whitesnake on bass it certainly added something to the show. I am glad that I heard people talking though about the fact they didn't know a lot of the songs. We all know most fans only know the big "radio" songs but they do have some great music. They were a little cheesey though when they would talk in between songs. Rudy did an awesome bass solo in the middle of "Godzilla". Ended the show with "Don't Fear the Reaper".
On came Steppenwolf after some technical issues. I will admit I only know a few of their songs, they still were a good band to see live. This is also their final tour. John Kay is calling it a day after 40 years! Hard to believe they are still rocking after 40 years! I found it funny that John Kay had his sleeveless shirt tucked in the entire performance. I know this is going to sound bad but I mean it in a good way...He should be playing Vegas. He just has this style that was like a Crooner. It was weird but cool. He still put on a good show for being 63. He can play the guitar as well. They did a cool version of Muddy Waters' "Hoochie Coochie Man". Other than that I wasn't to familiar with their material. Again I don't think most of the crowd knew it either. Good musicianship other than there is something wrong with the keyboard player who keeps sticking his tongue out. I don't care who you are after a certain age sticking your tongue out is not cool. It's Scary! Even for Gene Simmons it's still WRONG! The band played all the hits at the end of the show starting with "Magic Carpet Ride", then "Born to be Wild" and finishing the night off with "The Pusher".
Great Show!
Off to the station! Who knows what that will bring.

The Bday
The only proper way to bring in the Bday and the 1st Mandatory Metallica of July was with "The Unforgiven II", "Trapped Under Ice" and "Bad Seed". It was loud and kick ass.
The birthday wishes came in from some of the core Jam Session listeners...I must say that was very cool. It had been a while since I heard some trash talking from the grocery peeps, but tonight it was in full force.
Last Call started off with Jackyl's "the Lumberjack"..then had some Black Label Society "House of Doom". I almost thought these people were requesting for me. I was wrong. It was a nice thought though. Whipped out the live version of GNR's "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Boom Boom" from Pat Travers. To end it cranked up Sweaty Teddy's "Stranglehold". That tune will still blow the speakers.
Also got in Thorogood's "Gear Jammer"...Damn that sounded good.
Tonight for the birthday celebration I will be off to see Blue Oyster Cult and Steppenwolf at the Gila River Casino. Should be a cool show. Ice cold Bud will be flowin' so that should make for an interesting show tonight.

The Weekend...Desert Flame
The weekend started off pretty good.. Hanging around the station shooting the breeze with everyone. After a nap Friday evening I decided to head out to the Desert Flame where my buddy Mike and co worker is the DJ. Strip clubs are always fun. I know some people don't like them and I can dig that but I am one of the guys that just has fun hanging out and drinking there.
The girls there are cool..and pretty damn hot. Not to mention good f**kin' rock n roll played as they dance. I can tell you that you always like a song better when a girl is taking her clothes off to it. I can't tell you the number of songs that I have said "you know that song isn't to bad." Meanwhile there is a half naked chick in front of me. It's always a good time hanging there...the only down side is the drive there and home is roughly 25 minutes or so. Plus the construction going on on the 60 is a pain in the ass.
Saturday was one of those days to just hang and get shit done around the apartment. About decided to head to the Kilt and have some beers and food. A wise choice I must say.
And of course Sunday headed to the gym to just make sure I didn't sit around all day and do nothing. Got in a good run and headed home to nap and prepare for the birthday show tonight.
It's going to be another kick ass night for the All Night Jam Session, Just make sure you call in and say Happy Birthday. Just kidding..
LETS ROCK!
