George Thorogood and the weekend

Well first things first. After a few weeks here in Phoenix, I think I have found a place to call my local "hangout", it happens to be the Tilted Kilt on Warner. While the food was ok it really didn't matter because the girls working there were all hot. They were all wearing their plaid skirts or kilts with little white tops. WOW! What else can I ask for in my local hangout? Nothing. So I am sure I will see you there at some point.

Saturday took me to the Salty Senorita in Scottsdale where I had a damn good burrito and the cute bartender certainly didn't hurt the experience there today. Regardless of who was waiting on me the food was good and the weather was kick ass. A great day to hang outside and have cold one before the George Thorogood concert at the Celebrity Theater.

As I mentioned in a previous post George always puts on a great show. It was cool seeing an old roadie friend in his tour manager. I hadn't had a chance to catch up with him since I saw the band last year in Raleigh, NC at the Carolina Theater of Durham. He was surprised to see me since the last he knew I was out of work and I still wasn't working. We caught up and took a few pics with George before he took the stage. Again George was making jokes about me being in the Allman Brothers Band. The Destroyers started the show with "Rock N Roll Party" and of course played the staples of the show, "One Bourbon", " I Drink Alone", "Haircut" and the highlight to me was "Gear Jammer" from the Maverick album. Again I will tell you that if you have to chance to see GT do so. You won't be disappointed.
