First things first... I think I might have to side with the 3rd shifters at Fry's. I went shopping at Safeway the other day and they didn't have Brown Sugar Cinammon Pop Tarts. What the F***! I have never went to a store that didn't have at least a couple boxes on the shelf. I had to settle for strawberry, which will just have to do. A couple days pass and I come home and eat a Pop Tart (I know shouldn't be eating it) open the package and Kellogs has decided to put a picture on the icing covering the damn thing. Normally no big deal but this one was a picture of a SPIDER! Yea a freakin spider...Now the last thing I want to see on my food is a spider be it drawn on or not. Unreal...By the way still no cold water for the washer... not even luke warm. AND still no appearance from my maintenance people and its been almost a week. I think it's time to call in the dogs.
I need to say that Tesla's Troy Lucketta stopping by the studios yesterday was awesome. The guy is one of those cool rockers who is really thankful for the success he has had. You just don't find many like that. I had a great conversation with him about how we thank god that we don't have to do something like roofing out here in the middle of the summer. He came in to discuss the bands new CD Real to Reel, and the show at the Dodge among other things.
Then back home around 5:30 p.m. and I must say I was in some pain after the workout the day before. I was doing ok until about 8p.m. It was even rou gh opening the door to the station when it was time for the show.
The set of Mandatory Metallica included "Until It Sleeps", "One", and "Some Kind of Monster". Pretty damn good set to bring in the weekend. If you can just get over the trash can sounds on that damn "St. Anger" CD it might not be that bad.
It was also another interesting Last Call with requests for "Say What You Will" from Fastaway, Uriah Heep's "Easy Livin'", UFO's "Lights Out" and ending the night with requested new Tesla and their cover of "Ball Of Confusion".
The night rolled on and off to the gym where it was leg day. I swear it was painful. Getting back into the gym is the worst transition ever. Tomorrow I will probably be barely able to walk while I'm out at the Rattlers game.
I also spoke with my old friend Bob "the Blade" this morning about how things were going for the both of us. I told him I couldn't believe he was actually having to be at the station in NC at 9a.m. That guy is one lucky S.O.B. He has gone the last DECADE coming in at 2:59 p.m. and leaving at 7:01 p.m. It was good catching up with him as he is really enjoying working in New Bern, NC at WSFL. A great Classic Rocker on the East Coast. He actually ended the conversation with words I have never heard him say and that was "Hey dude, I will call you this weekend I have to go back to work."
Have a great weekend!
