Lynyrd Skynrd Called

Happy 4-20.

Well what a great way to bring in the weekend. Started off the show Friday well rested after the night of drinking for the Top show. Mandatory Metallica kicks off the weekend with "Blackened" then cranked up Kill Em All's "The Four Horsemen" and wrapped it up with "The Unforgiven II".

I then decided that since it's race weekend, plus it was Friday and that I just plain felt like it I rocked out a 4 play of Ozzy / Black Sabbath which included the new Ozzy tune "I Don't Wanna Stop". Calls rolled in from listeners who were up partying or driving in for the race and thanked me for the four play of the Godfather Oz.

Did a few giveaways for the 4-20 holiday and that's always cool as a reminder as to how many peeps are still up partying or rockin' on the job at 3:30 a.m.

I decided to hang out for the new morning show of J.R. & Marci since their producer Jon would be out of town next week and I would need to help while he was out. Plus it was cool to hang with them and the slew of guests that were roaming the halls. One was our very own Night Guy, the legend, Alice Cooper. I have never really said it, but I need to let everyone know that Alice is a cool dude! Always cool to hear his stories about touring and just his life. Alice hung out took photos with all of us. As Alice was taking pics he looked at me and said what I believe to be the funniest line spoken to me, "Lynyrd Skynyrd called and they would like their hair back." and "Great hair." I must say as funny as it was it was even more amusing to hear someone of his greatness say that.

A little later in the show the baddest and I guess I should add the craziest football player and Super Bowl Champ Bill Romanowski stopped by. He might be a little nuts from the 20 concussions but he was still very easy going and talked about everything. We all made jokes about whether he would spit on us or not. Good fun for a Friday.

It was an awesome Friday. I didn't even care that I hadn't slept since 2 p.m. the day before.

Next up Heaven Hell with Megadeth who will kick off their tour on Sunday at Dodge Theater.
