School has begun

The first day of class is over. What a relief. Yesterday was English Composition. I knew that in 8 hours we would be writing something and I was right. I never thought I would say this but this class is going to be cool. Of course double check with me in 30 days and we will see if I still think that or not. Today we began writing our first assignment which is our memoir. We have to write about one thing that has happened to us in our life. Well it was hard for me to choose as I had it down to 3 topics and finally settled on getting two bicycle tickets within 14 days when I lived in Cali. For those who don't know the story you soon will. Those that do know it well you will get to read about it again.

Today is Art History. I think this class could be pretty cool. I will soon find out.
Last night was also the season premier of Nip Tuck. I only decided to watch this because I wanted to find out if it would get back to being a cool show since last season just plain sucked the big one. I was very leary going into tonights show but I figured I would see what the premier was like since they are now located in L.A. I was not disappointed. Things were back like they should be. Great lines in the show once again "Like selling semen at a whore house" just classic lines spoken from Dr. Christian Troy. Judging by the previews it looks like it's going to be a good season. Again we will see.

That's all for now.

Just Mindless Ramblings for the Weekend

This weekend wasn't to interesting...I basically just hung out getting the computer up to speed for class on Tuesday. I talked to a few friends in California and found out luckily none of them were affected by the fires.

As I was flipping thru the channels I saw Saturday Night Live and man that show has not been funny in over a decade at least. I think they are definitely grasping at straws now as I saw Chevy Chase doing a segment on the news. Even that is not going to help. He was having a hell of a time reading the cue cards and the glasses he had on it was surprising he could read as good as he was. The damn things just kept sliding down his nose. I can't believe these writers sit around during the week and think some of this stuff is funny. I am also shocked that NBC hasn't just cancelled this show. Out of all the shows that are out there are they telling us that there is nothing better than this tired show? I think not.

I watched some football today, and I hate the Bucs yet since they are local I get stuck watching them. The Patriots won of course no surprise there and I have to say the Colts have to beat them in a couple weeks. I hate the Patriots. While I am on football why does everyone hate the Bills? So they lost 4 Superbowls. You should at least give them props since they are the only TRUE New York team. The Giants and the Jets both play in New Jersey...Sooooooo? Why are they not the NJ Jets and NJ Giants? Plus is it necessary to play the NFL in London? No! Let them have soccer. I do not even want to watch a game of football that is not here in the good ol' USA!

Also watched that show Ice Road Truckers and those guys are just crazy. Driving 300 miles on a lake that has frozen over! The ice is about 40 inches thick. That money is really not worth it.

Man after writing this I realized I watched way to much TV this weekend.

The Heroin Diary

Classes start on Tuesday and now it's time to prepare and buckle down. I can't wait to start though. I am getting into an intense program but when its over it will be well worth the time and the work. $$$$$$. I can't wait to get into the software we have for the course. This is just plain exciting. It will be a miracle if I don't get lost during my first week even with a map I have no sense of direction. You can ask just about anyone on that.

Knowing that this past weekend was before school started I of course went down to see the Paxton Bros. last weekend and as you read we all got hammered. Just a side note though their ONC (Official Night Cap)rule sucks! Again if you don't call out ONC to everyone then you have to keep drinking until everyone knows it. Freaking ridiculous but funny as hell when it isn't you. Just watch...

Meanwhile back at the Hall of Justice. We decided in our drunken stuper that it would be funny to read Nikki Sixx's "The Heroin Diaries". Well it was a great idea...as you can see by the footage below we aren't the best readers when we have been drinking. Sean of course is like a road scholar compared to Brooks and myself.

Check it out feel free to leave comments and rate it.

The Heroin Diaries

I have no idea what the bull at the beginning is for, but we thought it was funny so we said put it in. I still happen to think watching that bull is hilarious. TORO! TORO! That's the Spanish coming out in me.

I will say when the blooper reel gets done you will really laugh your ass off. That will be posted very soon.

Also if your interested in investing in BryMerica Films or using my video editing skills you can email me at bryantheroadie@gmail.com.

Have a great weekend.

Seriously Folks?!

Here it is late on Wednesday and after a day of registration and orientation at school it's time to relax. I must say I am excited about school, but man it is going to be super intense. I knew it would be, but after today and hearing the staff talk about the classes and the process..WOW! I see some stressful times ahead. It will be all worth it when it's over.

I got home around 8 p.m. and decided to watch some TV and I checked out Phenomenon. I don't know why. I guess after the hoopla around the show I figured why not and besides what the hell else do I have to do?

The first thing about this show is really? Live? Come on. One of the dudes played Russian Roulette with pneumatic nail guns and are we really supposed to believe that this stunt is live? I mean seriously...Are we to think that if this dude picks the wrong gun and shoots himself in the head with a nail gun I am going to be lucky enough to see this on LIVE TV? I think not. Nice try. I do love the fact that they show his mom in the audience all nervous like he is really going to screw it up. I can barely see two chicks kiss on TV and I am supposed to think a guy is going to shoot himself? Whitey please.

I will give them credit having Carmen Electra on the show. The outfit she had on really kept me watching. I should give props also to Rachel Hunter... She is still looking great too. Damn.

The Heroin Diaries video is just about complete. You will know more tomorrow when I post the video.

Day 4 and the Countdown Begins

I know everyone has been waiting with baited breath to see day 4 of the video across country. Well the anticipation is over. Here it is day 4.

Got back today from partying with my friends Brooks and Sean. Now it's time for the detoxing to begin. I believe I have had enough booze to last me for quite sometime. Yesterday Brooks and myself had to recover most of the day. Threw down some Taco Bell, nothing like a little grease to get you back on the horse. I guess it was around 3 p.m. we started feeling better and cold ones kept on going. Later we caught the night game with the Steelers and Broncos and it was a tough loss. We ended the evening as only drunks do...with a shot.

I found out that the World Series will be between the Red Sox and the Rockies. I couldn't be more dis-interested in that. I am a fan of baseball but lets face it the season is way to long and ever since they started the inter-league play I could really give a shit. I think it totally takes away from the World Series.

Drove back this afternoon and now the countdown begins for school. 7 days until the first day. It feels so weird to say "I'm going back to school". I am glad I am heading back though. I love radio but glad to be finally moving on. I can always go back and work part time. It's just one of those jobs you just can't stop doing once you have done it.

Make it a Permagrin

I am not even sure where to begin. Due to all the drinking that has been done. My mind is a mess. But if you have been following recent posts you should know I am hanging with my buddies the Paxtons this weekend. What a weekend it has been so far. I don't think I have been this drunk in a long time. Which I believe I said that the last time I was here.

Friday after drinking for a couple hours at the house, we decided we would head over to this crappy dive bar called "Brewskis". this place actually has Pabst Blue Ribbon in a bottle. PBR me ASAP. Kidding...Keep bringing me the Buds. It's pretty bad when we are the best looking people in the joint and that includes the women. Not to mention we were the youngest. We went just because we hadn't been in like a year or something so we said f*ck it let's go. 2 Permagrin shots, and 2 beers later we were on our way to drunkenness. Those Permagrin shots taste really damn good but man they will f*ck you up. 151, Pineapple juice, and Madori. make sure it is chilled though or its awful. I am pretty sure that every time I have been here we have never crashed out before 2 or 3 a.m. but this night we were done by 1 a.m.

Last night....well what can I say about last night. We started rather early in the afternoon and again we decided lets go back to Brewskis. Why? Well why not? So 3 beers and 3 Permagrin shots later we were well on our way.

We decided to then head over to your neighborhood bar and grill also known as Applebees and I had no idea it was my birthday. It really wasn't but the waitress thought so after Brooks managed to convince her of this. Of course I had no idea he had done any of this until I was done with my meal and the line of about 6 or 7 waitresses came out and started singing Happy Birthday.

After this our waitress walks up and says "You looked surprised by that...it really isn't your birthday is it?" She laughed and was pissed that she had to sing to me. We gave her a great tip because she was cool and she admitted that she hated singing that to customers. I got a free chocolate sundae out of the deal, but it really doesn't go with all the shots and beer we had already put down.

Here it is football Sunday and time for the black and gold. These guys are huge Steelers fans and they should be... Growing up in Steel town and well they are friends with coach Cowher. Until next time... Let the drinking begin.

Jenna Jameson and more Video

Today I stopped by school and I can't tell you how excited I am to be heading back. Learning all that is Digital Media and Design. Thinking about the future and what I will be able to do is just awesome. As much as I miss doing the radio / music thing I am also glad that I made the move to finally go back to school.

As I was doing some web surfing today (and it wasn't all porn) I saw a recent pic of Jenna Jameson and damn what in the hell happened to this chic? I remember back in the day when she used to be one of the hottest women, but now she is just plain disgusting. to be completely honest I wouldn't do her with your d*ck and someone else pushing. Of course that is a picture I didn't want to put in any ones mind but it's the truth. I mean look at her.

She is way to skinny, not to mention what the hell is wrong with her lips? It's like a duck bill. We all know she has been rode hard but good god man she didn't have to stop eating. I remember when Jenna looked like this....

Ahhhh yes that's the Jenna I love(d). It's like two different people. Is it possible that she has an ugly twin sister?

I am now preparing myself for the weekend. It's really my last weekend of true partying for a while since school starts in a couple weeks. Once again I am heading down to hang with my good friends the Paxtons. Last time we got so drunk we took this video footage:

Again I thought it was pretty damn funny of course hearing the laugh at the end is really the kicker for me. I am not even drunk and I still laugh. I am not sure if I can prepare my liver for what I am about to endure. Drinking will begin around 3 p.m. Friday and will stop probably around 12 a.m. on Sunday....that's just my guess.

One last thing I need to touch on is a photo I found online today and who in the hell superimposed a weird ass fu manchu on my chin?

I must have been really drunk because I barely remember this photo. Who cares right the singer was a hotty.

School and More Youtube

I am just counting the days until school starts. That sounds ridiculous because I never thought I would be at this point. I am excited and of course a little nervous just because...well it's school. Who the hell wants to go back to school? Let alone after 15 years since I was last in school.

I actually have been running again just got back on that kick and I love it. It actually makes me feel like I have done something during the day.

I know you are all awaiting the video for the final day of the trip and it is being edited as you read this.

As I mentioned yesterday I have been spending a lot of time on youtube.com and there is some great stuff there. Well my friend Todd knows this, but he sent me a link to some videos which I hadn't seen but have to be some of the funniest parody material ever. Basically this guy has over dubbed some really bad guitar to some of the greatest guitarist. Just watch..You will see and hear what I mean. I have Jake E. Lee with Ozzy, and Angus Young of AC/DC here, but on youtube.com you can see Slash, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Clapton and more.

Jake E. Lee

Angus Young

Maybe it's my warped sense of humor or maybe I am just really bored but that is some funny shit.

Raleigh, You tube, and More...

Back home again.

What a crazy and fun few days back in Raleigh. I got to see just about everyone in North Kakalacky (is that how you spell kakalacky? is that even a word?) that I wanted to. It was like old times meeting up with Rob, Jason, and Thomas for lunch. Hit a few places we used to go to on a regular basis. I have said this many times but it is really always good to see friends you haven't seen in a while. Rob looked liked a new person the guy has lost like 50 pounds or something. Jason well he is still a smart ass and well he knows. He did get lucky though and was playing security for Kelly Pickler at the State Fair. Then of course Thomas that guy still knows everything about a damn computer. That engineering staff in Raleigh could build a radio station out of some wire and a shoebox. Best engineers I have ever worked with.

Stopped in and saw the guys who canned me. Always interesting to see the look on their faces. Again after seeing the Program Director for the Rooster (I still hate saying that) and his can of possum soup or whatever on his shelf...Well I realized another reason why I couldn't do country. Damn. Who the hell eats cream of possum? I mean seriously? What kind of person eats that? ANSWER: RED NECK and he knows it.He even has the sticker in his window.(REDNECK PROUD) or something like that.

And then there is Jean. The receptionist well she still hates everyone. She is still my favorite black woman. She might be the only black woman I know but still she is still my favorite.

Friday went and met up with Les Norbert and did a segment for his youtube show. I had an alter ego of Glen Almond.

Glen Almond and Les Norbert

Then checked out some high school football with Teke and Sharen. That was some good shit. 51-0. This team kicks ass. My friend Sharen's son scored one of the TD's in that ass whoopin'.

Saturday I met up with Blade. It was weird hanging out with him past 8 p.m. The guy is usually in bed by 9, but I think he made it that night until about 1030. I was proud. Way to go dude. Blade, Teke (the RDU weekend god) and myself all sat around talking about the good times and just the past at RDU. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Talked about our old interns, PD's, co-workers, bits whatever it was just entertaining as hell. Blade is such a creative dude and just sounds good on the air. Listen to his show at WSFL.com from 2p-6p ET. Plus a guy who you can just talk about great music with.

Sunday it was off to another friends house and watched football, ate, and threw back more drinks...just in case the last 5 weeks I haven't had enough.

In my downtime I love watching you tube. You can find just about anything on there. I happen to stumble on a music video from a band I dug in the early 90's. Check it out below:

NC, Larry King, Kid Rock

I flew in to Raleigh, NC yesterday (and boy are my arms tired) wow..did I actually just write that? AND leave it in? See what happens while I wait for classes to begin.

I flew in Southwest Airlines and I must it was a good experience. Met up with some friends for lunch at the Hooters. Was going to hit the booze early but I figured I best lay off after weekend. Then I decided that was stupid so I hit the beer about 6 p.m. Can I just tell you that the Buds were going down good. Damn. Real good...

I also watched the Larry King interview with Kid Rock again. I am still trying to figure out who was more uncomfortable. Larry or Bob (Kid Rock). Larry's staff did a good job of getting some good questions out there because lets face it Larry King doesn't know shit about Kid Rock. I also think Larry King sucks but that is just my opinion. How he has managed to have a show for this long I just will never know and to be honest for being about 180 years old his wife is kind of hot...I stress KIND OF! Not to mention how can people look at that guy? Oh well he has money than me...for now.

I will say go and pick up the new Kid Rock CD. It's called "Rock N Roll Jesus" there is some good shit on there from the creatively confused Kid. Check out the title track here from his performance on David Letterman.

Day 3 Video is Up & Drinks Anyone?

What a weekend...I swear my friend Brooks and I put away some booze over the last 3 days. One more day without some sort of a break could have been very damaging to my liver. Probably his too. Brooks and I go way back to his touring days and after 10 years we can still put away the beer and have a great time. The picture from yesterdays post was from 1997. Well here we are boozing it up in his kitchen on Monday night.

Cheers (2007)

We drank until about 3 a.m. Of course we both woke up with some serious hangovers, but that was due to our O.N.C. drink. (ONC - Official Night Cap) This is a rule in the house that you can't go to bed or leave until you have declared to EVERYONE still partying that your next drink is your last or your O.N.C. It was Brooks' idea to do about 3 or 4 shots a piece for our ONC's. This was already on top of us drinking since about 5 p.m. Like I said yesterday I am amazed at how much alcohol can be consumed at his house.

Tomorrow it's off to Raleigh...The tour continues.

Below is the video from day 3 of the road trip. The drive took about 13 hours, but you will see it in under 3minutes. There's one more day of footage...Stay tuned.

21 Days

Here it is Monday and another trip down to North Port, FL to hang with my good friends, the Paxton Bros.

Always a fun time and way to much drinking. I never really know how much beer I can consume until I hit their house and end up putting away a shit load of beer. Saturday we started at like 4p.m. when I rolled in and finished about 2 a.m. Then we were up for football Sunday at noon and drinking by 1 p.m. for the Steelers game. The last beer went down around 11 p.m.

Me & Brooks Paxton II circa 1998 drinking Screwdrivers

I will be heading up to Raleigh, NC my old stomping grounds on Wednesday. I am excited about that and getting to see some friends before the most intense school program begins for me at the end of the month. It's really beginning to be like a U.S. Tour.

Part 3 and the final video of the road trip will be posted in the next couple days. I am just putting the final touches on the footage.

Starting to Settle In

First things first...here is the video from the second day of driving. This part of the trip took me from Van Horn, TX to Dallas, TX. I stayed with a good friend of mine Todd and his wife Shaila. Great peeps and Todd can cook like a mofo... Thanks for the great meal... Those are always needed on a road trip like this.

By now you should know that I have arrived in Winter Park, FL. All of my furniture and clothes etc...all arrived yesterday. As many times as I have moved it still sucks. I need to give a huge thank you to my friend Sharen who came in to help me move and get situated.

I ended up using the company door to door for my move. This is where you pack it in the storage units and they deliver it and then you unload it. I would say the experience was pretty good. I unloaded everything except the bed in the pouring rain. Of course in Florida you know it's going to rain almost everyday, but it was scheduled to rain all day. So the containers got dropped off and I wasn't sure when it would stop raining so I just decided to go ahead and unload the things. Yes, you guessed it as soon as I was done it stopped. Judging by the heat after the rain I was glad that I had unloaded everything...minus the bed. Sharen had to help with that. I had to get the muscle from somewhere.

It is so cool to be able to sit down and watch TV now or hang out on the couch or best yet actually sleep in my own bed...I had been without all of that since September 15th. Talk about roughing it. At least in my book.

Day 3 video will be posted soon...

Stay tuned.

What Day Is It?

I arrive in Florida and what do I do? Well I took a vacation...I ended up down at the Paxton house which is always a good time. We didn't do any shark fishing this time...but the good thing is I am only a couple hours away to go on some crazy adventures. By this point after having a couple weeks off from my last day at work I really have no idea what day it is anymore. The only reason I know it's Monday is because yesterday was football Sunday.

I am getting ready to start school at the end of this month. I must admit I am a little nervous since I will be the oldest dude there. How crazy is that? Me?! The oldest one? Crazy.

The video from day 1 of travel is now up. What took me 16 hours you will see in 2 min and 30 secs.
